Interesting matchup between Dallas and Minnesota, as the teams have not played eachother since Minnesota had their coaching change. Stars will have to go to school on the new systems that Torchetti has put in for the Wild.

The answer is apparently washed out of the KHL, washed out of an AHL comeback tour, hasn't played hockey in a year and was charged with weapons-related offences in November.

I dunno but it happened fast. His last full season was an ok one, certainly good enough to stick around in a league that employs Jonathan Ericsson, but did poo poo-all the next season from what I remember. He was a free agent after that and I guess no one thought he was worth whatever price tag he wanted??? That's my guess why he hosed off to Russia. That's why a lot of players do.

e: doubt his size helped matters either.

Did I miss something where head to head is the first tie breaker now cuz why do people keep thinking the islanders will pass the Rangers if the teams are tied in points? Rangers have more ROW (43 to 40) so the Islanders have to actually finish ahead of the Rangers in points, which means they have to win tomorrow for the 3 seed

Cats have 4 25 goal scorers this year for the first time ever. Smith scored with like 6 seconds left in the season to become the 4th one.

Far more championships in Detroit, and the Lions (the Lions!) have more championships than the Penguins. Truly a shameful stat for the Penguins.

quote:

If two or more clubs are tied in points during the regular season, the standing of the clubs is determined in the following order:

1. The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage). The greater number of games won, excluding games won in the Shootout. This figure is reflected in the ROW column.

2. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any ""odd"" games, shall be used to determine the standing.

3. The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season. NOTE: In standings a victory in a shootout counts as one goal for, while a shootout loss counts as one goal against.

Rangers have 101 points and 43 ROW
Islanders have 100 points and 40 ROW
