Well it seems the CR stream did get delayed by about 2 hours. Should be up in 35 minutes.

Barusu has had a hard time. I was kind of hoping/expecting for this arc to end on this episode, but that's more of an indication of my desire to see what happens next than anything else. In the end I liked having a more character focused episode instead of a plot focused one.

The best part of this episode was how obnoxious Subaru was being since he was forcing it thus making his already energetic personality dialed up to twelve and it was making him sick. I thought it was grating and painful to watch and I actually like Subaru a bunch. It did a drat good job on that front. I feel like I should go back and watch the episode where he visited the village but I can't recall anything about it standing out that might have been a clue. Just a ton of kids clinging to him.

You could just tell he was trying really hard and being really annoying and everyone else just wanted him to shut the hell up. Thankfully, Emilia saved us all. It's the dog that bit him when he was in the village, surely? I assumed he'd just got mysterious dog disease at the time but a curse makes more sense. Maybe.

I lol'd at 10:32 when the tiny witch's voice actress forgot to put on her cutesy voice and sounded like an actual human being for a second or so, before she caught herself and went up into "cutesy serious mode"

also lol'd at how Subaru checks his imaginary watch in a "gotta go now" gesture as if it would have an meaning to the residents of this world

Regardless, I think this suffices to justify her going to the village, so he isn't alone with her 'little sister'. I think that's the last death unless a serious new/old foe reappears out of the blue, they'll find the Shaman this round probably. Loved the ep; this series has a good and solid grounding in psychology.

That reaction to the blind spell makes it seem like it may be far worse than just losing your sight. Wonder if it also messes with your other senses as well.

today's episode was pretty weird. It's not surprising that he's breaking down fast having died a bunch of times and seen others die as well. I totally called him having a shadow magic On another note, like I said earlier I'm keeping up with the colored words at the end because I'm curious if they're going to mean anything. Here's where we're at right now (episode 1 on left, 8 on right) The first color is actually a greyish purple, not grey. Today's color is pretty grey and the word is Cried. Sentence so far is: "Begin Witch Another Happy Promise of Chains Re Cried" It's looking more like there's nothing to it or there's a translation error. Leaning towards the former but hoping for the later. I'll keep at it because it's easy and I'm curious.

Watching this there are extremely subtle foreshadowing for events that will happen in future arcs, this is so great. Not only can't I wait to hear who will be doing the voices of the characters of the next arc but I want to know when they will announce a second season already.

Holy poo poo, this ep. PTSD much? Kudos to Emilia picking up on his over-selling how happy he was, even so far as knowing it wasn't worth asking what was going on. Just Sit, Head, Lap.

And it's not referencing other break time episodes either, because this is the first episode with her. The first time he woke up in the mansion, noone was there. He stepped outside and ended up in the infinite hallway. He took a door at random and wound up in the library with Beatrice. He annoyed the poo poo out of her, she drained all his mana and he fainted again. <RESET POINT> He wakes up, and the maids (who presumably carried him back ot bed) are there to greet him / tease him / scare the poo poo out of him, depending on how many resets he went through.
