Yeah that's my problem, these desires to vote for Lionface are there for a reason, which makes it really difficult to persuade for an alternative. That is a really great resource, thank you for that, I really hope that helps highlight some area's they may be in conflict with Ze Lion.

Maybe point to how poo poo he is at being a libertarian? Something like his voting record on voting very strongly against letting landholders say no to mining and gas exploration? As well as the obvious stuff like his support of the current detention regime for asylum seekers, depending on whether your friend is WhiskeyWhiskers fucked around with this message at 10:23 on Jun 23, 2016 |

You can't play My Generation this long and it not getting silly either, and if she's half as intelligent as that, she knows it. Just got a glossy mail out for the Libs (they sure love mailing me crap) and from the guy they are putting up they don't really think they can win Perth. Also apparently he is running on a state platform in a federal election. That or leaning on "Malcolm's plan".... His very secret plan.

The libs actually haven't bothered to send me anything. I've gotten plenty from Kate Ellis and Robert Simms but maybe they've just given up on this seat. I vaguely remember getting a really hilarious one I think in 2010 from their candidate saying he could really relate to voters in the CBD because he once owned an investment property here There was also a photo of his daughters at the horse races in formal dresses and those stupid hats with some quote from them like "Dad's such a card! He's always talking about politics and how he can improve things!"

You could talk about the deal he cut with Abbott that allowed BIG GOVERNMENT to be able to take the biometric samples, like blood or saliva, from children and the disabled without their guardian or an independent witness present. He literally expanded the scope of the government while eroding the rights and freedoms of those who needed it most for a new shotgun.

Negative Gearing Reform, and not cutting the company tax rate to 25% are really loving good reasons to hope Labor wins this election. Because once you cut that tax rate, you'll never get it back up to where it needs to be.

Who knows, there might be a decent amount of hope after all. I was having a beer with my Dad last night and despite being a country person who reads the telegraph and generally I can't talk to about politics without wanting to stab myself said "That Shorten might actually win, I saw him speaking at something and he was very down to earth and approachable. Whether Turnbull thinks hes just better than us" Colour me surprised but if this starts being the view of people far out in the country, who knows what'll happen!

I'm mildly hopeful of a Labor-Greens minority government but then I see Shorten wussing out on the Medicare privatisation stuff (he wouldn't commit to it on 7:30 last night) and I worry again. Just because Turnbull denies it doesn't mean they aren't thinking of it. They've been instituting policies for the past three years that are chipping away at Universal Healthcare. What's the downside? If you win the election saying that Libs were planning to privatise Medicare, good job, well done. If the Libs win and privatise Medicare, you're vindicated. If they don't, everyone will have forgotten by 2019 anyway.
