'Massive crowds' at rallies are utterly meaningless.

No I'd say pretty much the opposite that massive crowds are indicative of uncommon degrees of political engagement which is extremely important for Labour at the moment.

What's important for Labour is inspiring at least a plurality of voters to vote for them, not attract a small proportion of voters that are already converts to political pop concerts.

Rallies don't win elections.

It seems unlikely that everyone attending the rallies is already an established labour voter. That would be a little odd given that we haven't generally seen that sort of turnout.

Further, engaging more voters is good because they provide a vehicle whereby the labour message can be spread.

You make him sound more like an evangelist than a politician.

Which is apt.

Witnessing him compel Green voters to speak in tongues won't make him a better Labour Party leader.

how is that making him sound like an evangelist?

you can come and listen to him speak, put forward his policies himself with no editor or director and make a decision yourself.

Answer his question. Do you not think it important to observe him speak when you have the chance?

For reference what you did there was reductio ad absurdum.

Because you seem to be suggesting that seeing him in the flesh might make me a believer.

And even if it did that wouldn't make him the right person to lead the Labour Party. He just doesn't have what it takes to deliver a Labour government.

I am suggesting nothing of the sort, I just think it would be interesting to see what your opinion is after you went and saw him for yourself, whether it would reinforce your opinion or not.

Why doesnt corbyn just form his own party. Labor wont win with or without corbyn. he could run as a shadow party and cut labors 20E players with the tory left and form an amazing socialist government to oversee the brexit post-A50 trigger

I think a lot of them would probably go along with beating the tories on authoritarianism.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/03/jeremy-irons-on-gay-marri_n_3009495.html

quote:

“Could a father not marry his son?” Irons asked HuffPost Live host Josh Zepps. Irons argued that “it’s not incest between men” because “incest is there to protect us from inbreeding, but men don’t breed,” and wondered whether same-sex marriage might allow fathers to pass on their estates to their sons without being taxed.

“It seems to me that now they’re fighting for the name,” Irons said of advocates for same-sex marriage as opposed to civil unions. “I worry that it means somehow we debase, or we change, what marriage is. I just worry about that.”

Irons reiterated that he “[doesn’t] have a strong feeling either way” on same-sex marriage, and said that he “[wishes] everybody who’s living with one other person the best of luck in the world, because it’s fantastic.”

“Living with another animal, whether it be a husband or a dog, is great,” he said. “It’s lovely to have someone to love. I don’t think sex matters at all. What it’s called doesn’t matter at all.”

Irons also blasted New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg over the proposed restrictions on soda, describing himself as a “complete libertarian” and likening Bloomberg’s policies to a “nanny state.”

Just like soviet era clothiny stores. Corny Corbyns Gulags stand to benefit the executioner not society's well being.
