Nah, I remember that it was a kid who got a guitar and I think dyed his hair to try to pick up girls but was forced to shave his head. I just can't remember the name of the anime and it's bothering me now.

e: Got it, it's from Chuunibyou.

For additional content, I really hope Ritsu doesn't go too far down his current path. Really his encounter with Teru should've been a warning sign that maybe he's starting to get a little delusional, I feel he hasn't gone so far that he can't take back the things he's done and make it up to Onigarara. :smith:

Reigen I had immediately bad first impression of as someone who was using Mob, but now I've come around to him as someone whose looking out for Mob's interests in his own way while also only slightly taking advantage of him in an easily rationalized way.

If I wanted to be extremely generous I'd go as far as to put Reigen's "I'm your teacher/mentor" attitude as not mere opportunism but a deliberate effort to keeping Mob humble as to prevent mob from basically doing what Ritsu is doing right now.

Right now I can't really decide how much of this Reigen is doing on purpose and how much of it is a happy accident of circumstance.

OreImo. Manami's kid brother does that.

Reigen is like an onion, he has layers.

Guy's a clever opportunist but he's also a fundamentally decent human being who is sincerely looking out for his pupil. And Mob's humility is one of his best qualities so Reigen's been reinforcing that while at the same time trying not to harm Mob's self-esteem. He's not perfect and has some character development of his own to go through but he's still pretty great.

I too was worried that Reigen lost his powers when he couldn't see the spirit in the con artist gallery, but luckily he is still very powerful

also was that scene an omake chapter like they've done in Episode 1 and 2, cause I do not remember that when I read ahead

Yeah, it was.

And of course Reigen couldn't see it. Like Dimple, it was simply too weak for his vast powers to deign to notice.

Ritsu would be a contender for best boy in any other show, but this show has many boys who would be definite best boys in any other show, so he's quite far down the list despite being great.

Amazing! It's a double J.O.!
I think anyone who doesn't like Reigen now definitely will later, but they shoulda warmed up to him when they gave us his lesson about not pointing their powers at other people. I didn't really like him until then, he was just kinda funny but useless and maybe a detriment to Mob (trying to keep him from joining a club was a dick move).

I also read ahead because this series is good, I'm so glad I gave this a shot, based on the name alone I honestly thought the series was about a mob of 100 kids doing a Battle Royal thing. I'm trying to get everyone to watch it now, I wish this was the anime everyone pushed instead of Attack on Titan.

Josuke Higashikata

Attack on Titan clearly has some xfactor I don't recognise, but manga wise, I don't think the art in AoT is that far ahead of ONE's on a technical level but it doesn't have the charm that ONE's scribbles do. AoT is an enigma to me.

I'd say that was at least in part Reigen looking out for Mob, as he often does.

The club just wanted Mob to fill a seat, just using him (which, admittedly, is part of what Reigen is doing, but hey. It takes a thief...). Mob didn't want to be part of the club, but he didn't want to let people down. Reigen made him honestly ask himself what he wanted. And what Mob wanted was to get buff.

Reigen: Still great.

The thing with Reigen is, he's using Mob in his business, but he's also giving Mob a useful outlet for his powers, so he learns that they aren't just a burden he needs to be afraid of.

It is more then just an outlet though. Reigen constantly hammers in the idea that just because Mob has powers does not give him the right to abuse them.

I really like how Reigen is a fraud only because he pretends to be a psychic. He legitimately helps clients all the time without using psychic powers, so in that sense he is being a good person. He's helping people, just not with the methods he claims to be using, and this adds a lot of nuance to his character IMO.

When I watched the first episode I think Reigen was my least favorite part, because while some things were funny the show seemed to be hammering in him exploiting Mob, and it was leaving a bad taste in my mouth. The third episode brought me around on him though.
