When I was growing up two of my favourite VHS's were the 1992 and 1993 Blue Jays World Series films. I literally watched each one every other day for a good 3 years. And while I hated most of the 92 Braves (Deon was cool) I always thought the 93 Phillies were badass because of Dykstra and Schilling. Now I'm almost 30 and I can't think of a former player I despise more than Schilling and the last I heard of Dykstra he went bankrupt managing a magazine that sold yachts. The moral of the story is never respect your opponent #nofear

John Olerud was the best guy ever in my eyes because even as an infant I appreciated his exceptional strikeout/walk ratio.

On the other hand, Merritt has pitched 11 innings in the majors and he's gonna be in a very loud Skydome. It is possible that he gets a bit shaken from the pressure. We can only hope.
