Yes getting skilled on Alphabridge as your free talent is stupid. I believe it was one of the best talents for solo cause if Recovery Link gets popped it's not too hard to basically murder some dudes to cut a lot of time off on the cooldown.

You'd be doing 4 piece alpha 2 piece Nomad, you'd want Accuracy ( tighter spread ), Predatory, Skilled, Responsive, Meticulous, Brutal. Your primary is going to want to be either a Saiga or the 870 depending on what you are more comfortable with ( I'd personally pick the Saiga because I suffer lag and can't headshot people point blank to save myself ). You'll want bonus ammo for your chest and backpack, and probably as much health on kill as possible. You're gonna be point man and trying to get those head shot kills up close so One is None, On the Move are mandatory, and you have to chose between Shock & Awe, Stoppping Power, Strikeback, Tactical Advance and Precision. Stamina and Armour are going to be super serious, but you're wanna have decent SP for Booster shot and a CC ability. You could go just 4 AB, Specialised and one of the bonus armour pieces but I suspect you'll be spending more time out of cover rather than in it.

Sounds pretty loving hard to be honest, and DPS for taking down tanky elites is really gonna suck - you're going to want buddies, but then they are reducing gains from any health on kill which you'll be depending on to keep you alive.

Tanky pointman really wants a shield which rules out AB.

"I'm not going to talk about every item, just the ones you should get" *proceeds to list good items while also mentioning bad ones for no loving good reason at all* "I'm not going to tell you how to mod items like I used to since it takes 6 minutes to do it right on each item so I'll go put that in another video series" *could have just said "roll X to Y" on things* "Vectors aren't like they used to be" *still mentions Vectors with good rolls* Like, seriously, why in the gently caress is it so hard to summarize poo poo and keep it short?!

I'm glad that 1.4 is so good that I don't have to listen to guides like this.

Welp, despite cheesing the last two Rogue kills for Platinum I just earned them legitimately. Caught a pair of rogues as they came running out of an extraction, dropping the first one before he knew what was going on. Second spent so long trying to get around my riot shield a nearby cleaner patrol took notice...

So did the new update make things tougher? I used to be able to cheese the bottom 2 or 3 segments of the DZ alone, running around and grabbing the boxes and extracting, but I dropped back in last night and got my rear end handed to me by NPC's.

I'm not particularly high level, my equipment score is 178, because I could never get on a crew that would actually complete an incursion.

My main is level 30, DZ level 37. Has the game left me behind? I don't have the underground DLC, and no real good weapons. Anybody have any sage advice? Anyone still grouping up on PS4? My tag is Gileadexile, I'm gonna go back a few pages and add anyone else who put their names up, cause I spent money on this thing, I want to get some loot!

Man, I forgot how intense the DZ can be even without rogues. A pack of rioters showed up about three seconds after I launched an extraction flare, including two heavy machine gunners that had me completely pinned behind a shipping crate while the assholes with baseball bats closed in. I managed to pick off a few of them but had to burn through all of my health packs. I would have retreated and made my way to a different extraction point, but then out of freaking nowhere a jet of flame lances out and roasts the last remaining bat guy. loving Cleaners came to my rescue! The machine gunners broke off to engage them and I managed to hook up my loot with only seconds to spare on the clock.

Thanks boys, next Cleaner patrol I find I won't bushwhack immediately.

This is mutiny!
For an AB shotgun build I'd gear one out as mentioned, but make sure to get one of the 45% range boost grips on it too. With an accurate-ish shotgun it seriously boosts your ability to ruin NPC's before they're right on top of you.

The other I'd set up as a blind fire point blank thing. Just dump every slot into the most damage mods you can, and call it a day. Try and get predatory or something on one gun if you can, it helps a good bit. Shotguns are solid at getting killing blows since the damage comes out in big chunks.

Yeah I tried all the ARs and the ACR just hits the sweet spot. G36 is also pretty good if a little bit slower RPM wise. But the ACR with 1-2 Accuracy and rest full Headshot is just a laser basically. I never use the LVOA because it's such an effort to control. Only situation would be PVP because of the stupid "hip firing run around each other" PVP meta that is, was and always will be sadly.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture is a boring movie
Yeah I tried the recommended LMG build and it just didn't work for me. Plus the gear I had wasn't great so I was super squishy. I went back to my 4pc striker + AR and I'm tougher and doing more damage. That LVOA isn't a bad starting gun especially if you're trying to hit 229 right away, but I got a good G36 last night and it's so much more stable that I can live with the slower fire rate in exchange for way more headshots (and body shots because of striker). I remember having a great ACR a long time ago. I'd definitely love to have another one.

yes and no. when you enter a world tier you are going to be squishy but it is manageable, and when you get to the top of your world tier it feels good. the higher difficulty is a workout instead of a slog.

you won't be left behind, none of the guns or armor are going to be DLC exclusive any more, and they drop from everywhere, so just play the game however you want. my past week has been spent mostly running around the world clearing roaming bosses, HVTs, and relatively little dark zone or missions, and just from that loot I got 3 different and very good max level builds out of it, and working on a 4th.

I would love to see a light zone tier 5 where the enemy toughness is kept the same as wt4 but the spawn density and roaming patrols are upped to match the higher DZ areas. Those 3-4 way firefights are awesome.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm basically running around with an M44 and an 870, both the highest damage weapons I can find, because all my old stuff and even some of the new auto rifles I've gotten from drops just seem extremely bullet spongey at the level I'm at, even at world tier 1.

I'm wondering if I should start a new build?

Are you sure? Doing it versus the Tweaker gang weekly HVT, and the box soaks a fuckton of hits and seems to ignore alot outright.

You may be right though, since they did decrease base accuracy etc.

EMERGENCY POWER TO PARTY
loving four-man team ganked me in the DZ last night while I was extracting. They appeared out of thin air right after I put my stuff on the rope and burned me down in the usual half-second magdump, then cut the rope. Five sealed caches, they got. All had an ATT_ prefix in front of their names. Most frustrating. At least with Banshee I don't lose a boatload of xp every time...

On the upside, I was able to do solo PVE in the DZ and it wasn't a shitshow until the very end. So definitely a gameplay improvement!

EMERGENCY POWER TO PARTY
On an unrelated subject, did you know that you can convert excess credits into birdcoins? You can buy those special sealed caches at the open world safehouse vendors for 200,000 credits, and they drop 5-15 birdcoins. (Anecdotally the ones I've bought have almost always dropped 10-15). Given how easy it is to accrue credits now, it's a nice, if repetitive, way to pick up the last birdcoins you need to buy something without having to go to a huge amount of effort.

alphabridge is the set that gives you all you equipped weapon talents on one gun, running skilled or w/e w AB would just be using a gun with that talent

Blueprint vendor is selling a stamina mod blueprint this week. One of the dark zone checkpoints is selling a decent +armor firearms mod and another is selling a +armor electronics mod. If you only have firearms/stamina on your equipment I would pick up the electronics mod because it will put you over the minimum electronics roll to use predatory and meticulous.

Also, one of the checkpoints is selling 6% self-heal first aid mods. I bought three of these because I can't imagine a circumstance where I won't have first aid equipped.

I know this has been asked probably a hundred times, but can someone explain to me the difference between accuracy and stability?

Why would I want accuracy on an AR as opposed to stability? or vice versa?

For my AR I've been trying to get headshot damage and I've been running 2 piece strikers a lot for the +20% stability. I want to know how wrong I've been.

Accuracy is the crosshair expanding and getting smaller. which is the zone where it's possible for a bullet you fire to end up.

Stability is how much kick and movement the gun makes while firing.

I guess I'll have to play around with it a bit to find out what I like better. I assume that's what everyone does? That there isn't an optimal "go for accuracy over stability" argument here?

depends on the gun.

Some guns have minimal recoil and kick to them so you would be fine to to stack accuracy.

Some guns have poo poo tons of kick to them so you'd want stability.

First Aid is great for solo play because you're all that you can rely on. Even at end game I still run First Aid - Overdose and Tactical Scanner because knowing where enemies are during an engagement is pretty important.

You're gonna want to unlock your signature skills in each wing by buying the 1000 supply upgrade and the 500 supply upgrade right below it. Security = Survival Link, Medical = Recovery Link, and Tech = Tactical Link. If you go down a lot get Recovery Link first. Otherwise, look into Survival Link to make yourself tanky for 15 seconds or Tactical Link to pump out bullets for 15 seconds.
