Man, Crosby is on another level this year in terms of goal scoring. I was gonna continue to brag about Pasta, and him having 15 goals in 21 games, but Sid is at 17 in 20.

While Sam Gagner is killing it in Columbus, Washington's 2 "big" acquisitions (Brett Connolly and Lars Eller) each have 3 points. And Tom Wilson, who inexplicably was expected to become a top 9 player, has 1 whole point in 24 games.

I at least gotta admire the guy going "yeah maybe I'm not smart but this job doesn't require a degree so there" and just flat out owning it.

Pastrnak is only at 21, so obviously he's going to win when Crosby crashes that 3%. I did the math don't worry, no need to verify.

That said after watching the Wings game the other night I'm still loving amazed Fleury tries to play the goddamned puck when it's rimmed around because even after 10+ years he's loving godawful. So while I love Fleury the person and think he's hilarious, I wouldn't mind trading him and getting a decent D prospect for him.

Despite how lovely he has been this year I do still think he's a starting goalie that could help some team. He's just a below average to maybe average at best one, but still think he's better than some of the starters out there. He's been absolutely horrendous this year but he is coming off two good seasons in a row and is historically a 915-918ish goalie which is not great but is decent enough that some team would want him.

So tonight the Rangers may push the Isles' poo poo in. The Rangers will be loved and I will appreciate their good season so far. The Islanders will be hated because this year has been a constant source of disappointment for me, watching yet another year of John Tavares wasted by Jack Capuano's "coaching". The Islanders may beat the Rangers. I will be upset with the Islanders winning in an already lost season, and giving a bit of slack to Capuano. But I will be happy for an Islanders win, for the players. The Rangers would disappoint me falling to the Islanders. Their offense should dominate. I plan on watching with a tempered numbness from my chair. E: Ideally, there is a high scoring game with the Rangers winning. Maybe Capuano loses it, goes ballistic in the post game and says something bad enough that he gets fired. That would be niiiiiice. Thinking back to in-season starter trades... Miller returned a goalie, some players, and a first. Luongo was cheaper but his situation was kind of hosed and they still got Markstrom back. Before that there was Roloson in 06 for a first and a third.
