How much do you want it? ;-*
Captain Tsubasa would require a whole lot of effort for a not-so-great challenge, so that's low in the priority list.

There is a two-parter coming up though. I just finished translating part two.

I love the ending to the second part of that episode, FWIW.

Nah, I'm grateful for any episode and two parters are usually good. I.Q. is the only one that dragged a bit, but it wasn't bad either.

I've been catching up on the show and honestly, the ones I have the most interest in doing are the lesser-known games.

I like the more obscure ones a lot as well. Especially if a bizarre game like the Tom Sawyer game that just goes into a really weird direction. It nice to do a big game like Zelda II then a few small releases ones.

Regardless, I just can't wait for new content.

+1 here. While I have loved to watch him take on some of my childhood favorites, the best are the obscure or Japan only titles where I have no idea what is coming next.

It's a mix for me, I like both seeing games that I played a ton as a kid so I can know like what he's going through but I also like seeing it as a literal way to show me games I've never seen or never could play because of the language barrier

Popular/big-name games are usually some of the most boring. There are exceptions (Battletoads) but stuff like Zelda or mario tends to be way more boring.

Yeah I am excited to see how he handles Rygar and Wizard & Warriors, as they are both familar games, but also along the lines of Battletoads that they can be hard as well.

The episodes I like are the ones featuring genres we don't really get in the US, like quiz and detective games. But they're all really good.

Mostly, of course, it is sort of hard to second-guess the choice of next episode to subtitle when it is made by someone who has already seen and understood all the remaining unsubbed episodes, so I imagine all will turn out for the best :)

I'm watching the Shikoku Trip special now. Like all trip specials, it is great. More significantly for me, I finally got to see this toy iPhone Arino gifted me at the wrap-up party.

It's a prize he won from one of the machines. I won't spoil what it does.
UPDATE: Turns out the one I got, he bought in Tokyo, which means he must've REALLY liked it.

Related to this special: man I love Kibe.

ETA: But I don't love his shirt.

re: translation stuff, I'm happy with any episode and actually am in no hurry to see Zelda II. I never really cared for it, probably owing to how the first time I ever played it was on an emulator and just couldn't get past the way it handled. I know everyone says "combat is so easy! you just need to use the downward stab!*" but I'm not really the kind of person who's willing to put up with the game to that point.

*oh i failed to mention that you need to unlock it and until then fighting iron knuckles etc is a loving nightmare

He told me on Twitter just now that he got it in Tokyo, which means he liked it so much that he decided to buy one?? Not sure if he got it for me specifically or what, but I assumed it was from Shikoku because the batteries are dead. (Shikoku SP spoiler) He didn't know that though, so he tried to trick me with it. For my sake I'm glad it didn't work! (The ones from the special were on display at the Akihabara event so the fans could try it out, and they were getting weaker the more people used them.)

All new content is good content---even the generally rare "weaker" episodes still tend to add to the flavour of a given season and beyond as they contribute to the delicious Gestalt of edutainment~

This is one of the best shows period, and that it endures is the universe's way of balancing the scales a bit that we have to live our lives without new episodes of Dotch Ryouri draining budgetary funds like a black hole devouring the stars.

Watching him use this during the episode made me really want to get one myself, but I have a feeling the experience for me wouldn't be as amazing as it looked on TV.
