Hi I'm a huge dumbass and didn't learn my lesson from Sleep the first time or Boris a few months ago and I just saw Sleep in the front row with no earplugs and now my entire head is rattling and my equilibrium's all thrown off

I forgot earplugs when I went to see Melvins 30th anniversary tour. I was standing right in front of the double drums. Maybe I was imagining things but I think Dale Crover gave me a worried look at one point. They played some Lysol. Worth it I guess.

I could barely hear the drums throughout the entire set. Or the bass. I was standing in front of Matt Pike and his guitar tone just took up the entire mix, at least from where I was standing.

I have friends who after decades of either playing or listening to super loud music are suffering from tinnitus, some so bad that they've had to stop playing music and going to gigs to keep the tiny amount of hearing they have left. Don't be a loving idiot, buy some good plugs and you'll protect your hearing and the music will actually sound better.

I started using stronger earplugs than etymotics, they weren’t cutting it for extremely loud shows. I forget the name of mine but if you search amazon you can get like 8-10db more reduction.

I can't remember if we talked about Below the House in this thread, but it was definitely my favorite album of 2017. Did you hear the weird lo-fi cassette version he released? King Woman is great, too. They just signed to Sergeant House and are about to announce tour dates.
