Like, in any halfway competent factory those wouldn't even be on the assembly line at the same time

It should not even be physically possible to gently caress that up, much less ship it

It was either Ford Australia or Holden, I can't remember which, that had an automated assembly line that someone hosed up, and it had the bodies of ute fronts being welded to the tail end of stations wagons or something equally crazy, and it couldn't be fixed for months.

Which I think makes Tesla look like Ferrari in comparison but they don't make cars anymore so that's kind of telling.

Good, good. We're realizing that we can effectively piss away military funds in our own backyard, instead of wasting our money in southwest Asia.

Much more efficient fraud, waste, and abuse.

The jurors apparently have never heard of a shell company before. Fantastic.

The reasonable doubt question is likely because they forgot the judge's jury instructions.

pretty sure you gotta submit an FBAR for anything =>25% directly or indirectly (e.g. owning half a holding company that owns half the company)

e: I'm mistaken, that ownership percentage threshold is for reporting business ownership within a bank's onboarding CIP/due diligence screen and the responsibility is on the bank to call the business out on it. However, the FBAR requirement is pretty broad so if the money was

a) put into the company account by Manafort,
b) generated primarily through his business activities (foreign lobbying, suckin' russian mafia kielbasa, eroding eastern european democracies etc)
c) under his indirect control (e.g. he has no signatory authority but can call the signor up/text them via SMS or whatsapp/drop them a note on VK and ask for a wire)

Then he's probably required to file an FBAR. You can't just get around it by hiding behind, uh, shelf corporations. It's all about knowing where your overseas money is. If it's his money at the end of the day, it's gotta go on the FBAR. Doing what I'm assuming he did, which is to say the money wasn't actually his and was just being lent to him, because fake loans are the extremely slavic way of laundering money and he learned from the best, is loving money god drat laundering and his rear end by all rights ought to be grass.

https://twitter.com/SenatorLeahy/status/1030195710849900545

The press release itself:

"Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) Thursday asked Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) to join a request for Judge Kavanaugh’s Staff Secretary records and to publicly release the documents now. Feinstein is the Judiciary Committee’s Ranking Member, and Leahy and Durbin are also senior members of the committee.

The senators emphasize the fact that documents that are currently “committee confidential” contain information indicating that Kavanaugh misled the Senate during his 2006 nomination hearing.

They write, “We firmly believe that Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination cannot be considered unless these documents are available, including to the public and the Senate as a whole.” The senators strongly urged Chairman Grassley to support their “request for Judge Kavanaugh’s Staff Secretary records and to publicly release documents from Judge Kavanaugh’s time in the White House in the same manner as was done for all previous Supreme Court nominees. The truth should not be hidden from the Senate or the American people.”

Kavanaugh lying to the Senate during his 2006 hearing, plus his garbage numbers, just might move the needle. Yeah yeah, 2018 nothing matters, whatever.

I'm still confident that he get's convicted, maybe not on every charge, but enough that he's going away for the rest of his life.

EDIT: Yeah, he's got 18 charges against him in this trial. I think it's foolish to expect every single one of those charges to stick considering the average juror, but I don't think he walks on all 18.
