Memet and Benjy are fantastic because they're the only two who seem to hold true to the channel's original "No More Bullshit" mandate and aren't afraid to go against the rest of the kiss asses, headed up by Brent and Gary. The increasingly and sadly rare times when we get to see some truth on the show are a breath of fresh air and a reminder of the way the show used to be, and it seems like it only happens when it's Benjy or Memet instigating it. Benjy in particular seems to take advantage of his exceedingly infrequent in-studio appearances to go against the grain and even outright trolling at times (the most recent example being the shot at Howard's teeth which I think had the exact intended results).

And how can they poo poo on Richard and Benjy for not recording his good in the lottery line, but then Memet is claiming to be sitting on tons of good ideas that he is not sharing, for some reason. And then his idea about pointing out that the staff was too PC wasn't what made the bit great, it was Memet's reaction to it. I think Gary, or whoever it was, was right when they said that Memet doesn't realize what makes him good on the show. It's not his ideas, it's how he is so easily triggered

I'm still a day off, so looking forward to another Memet meltdown. But can we talk about that Jonah Hill interview? That was just loving weird. I saw all posts on Reddit about him being a douche bag, but that whole thing sounded like a preacher without a religion. Hevwas trying so hard to convince Howard about being enlightened that came off as desperation, like he was trying really hard to believe himself. It made me look up the Kimmel clip and while I do think it was a bit of an unexpected knock, his reaction was pretty odd. It ended up linking toa video of him being interviewed for Superbad by a guy that is just trolling him and he flips out about what everyone wants him to be and what not. Guy clearly has some issues and is having a hell of a time kicking them. In the end it was a bad interview I just kinda felt sorry for him...

Generally Howard and Jonah have a good chat, but this time Howard seemed to challenge Jonah more, and I also think Jonah is a bit fried from all of his promotion. Generally, I dislike it whenever a fat dude acts so offended by fat jokes, yeah it hurts, get over it. Also, it was weird how Jonah was already apologizing over the dialogue of his characters. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie, but if Howard is saying he didn't see, fans of the show can assume his opinion of the movie. It really wasn't one of Jonahs best interviews. E; Also I'm wondering if that line about censoring the past wasn't a dig at the Howard's replay channel. Which reminds me, this week on Sternthology they played a Howie Mandel interview after Howard left AGT, and him and Robin really tear in to him in it. I really like Jonah's work, both comedy and drama, and will likely rent the movie once it hits VOD as I'm a similar age to him and probably can relate to it. And I agree, his previous interviews have been good because he is a fan and can mesh with the show. But man... this one was hard to listen to. Especially coming in the day after Silverman who always nails it with Howard.

Jonah really messed up with the interview, I understand not wanting to talk about the loss of his brother and all, but when he let it slip he was in a relationship and in love but wouldn't elaborate on it, it only made it more mysterious and is probably gonna attract more attention to it. Jonahs guard was too far up it made for a bad interview.

The best interviews aren't exactly the ones that spill everything, but actively avoiding really basic questions doesn't play well. Just like how Ronnie could have diffused the mess of the week by saying "someone else Photoshopped that and I totally looked the other way and I admit it is funny", Jonah trying to protect anything personal beyond his new mantra just came across as super fake.
