Anyway, they mentioned Cook Serve Delicious too, and there is Restaurant Empire, a restaurant management game that involves cooking recipes and designing restaurant interiors, with a goofy rear end plot, so that might be something to look at? There is also an iOS game called Design This Home that has you design the interior of a 9 room house with like 700 furniture items. There is also Home Design Story, also iOS. Home Sweet Home on PC seems to be like the Sims but focused on the design parts rather than the sims themselves. Thread, I'm on a zombie kick because I picked up Project Zomboid and it's genuinely amazing. It reminds me of the gameplay portions of Death Road to Canada, but 100% serious and isometric and so on. What are the good zombie games out there? As far as I know there are three of them: Dying Light, Death Road to Canada, and Project Zomboid. What am I missing?

Dead rising 1&2 are very good, if wacky as gently caress, 3&4 are largely considered to be weaker offerings. Dead island is pretty much the prototype of dying light, so expect it to be rough in a lot of ways. I just started playing 7 Days again with some friends on a server, and while it's been a lot of fun, it always felt to me like the zombies are secondary to its nature as a Minecraft knockoff. Raiding infested structures is fairly tense, though, so that may change as I play more.

I didn't care for Dying Light; it felt tonally disjointed as gently caress to me. But, it's not without value, and I could easily see other people liking it. The real problem with Dying Light so far as I'm concerned is that it doesn't know what it wants to be. An open world, parkour, zombie game with crafting, coop, and drop-in competitive multiplayer... it was like they were trying to chase every buzzword they could at the time, and the mechanics just didn't really mesh with each other. The narrative was weak, too... the story threatened to get interesting a few times, but never did. But if those are all concepts you like, you might enjoy it.

There's a lot of different angles to it - based on Project Zomboid I'm assuming you like the survival aspect, but with something like Dead Rising you get a much more "just mow down hordes of very stupid enemies" type game. Have you played Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead? It's a bit more than just zombies, but zombies are the primary enemy type. It's a Roguelike survival-ish game.

I'm both looking for the general "best of" zombies (Walking Dead is a good example) so I can sample the delights, look beyond what I normally play, and looking for survival that captures the horror and tension of the idea of zombies. Romero films except the trapped people are competent. Project Zomboid has been the best I've found yet, and Death Road to Canada is great - more humor than I prefer but the tension of sneaking into a store for supplies is incredible. Which is to say, great recs so far! I've played some and never heard of others. CDDA sounds good. 7 Days to Die meanwhile sounds neat except I don't do multiplayer unless it's Stardew Valley. How is it for solo play?

It has a very smooth difficulty curve, and the optional superboss is one of the easiest of the series. If you'd like to avoid dual-classing choices, you can play EO1 or EO2. EO1 has the most unforgiving early game(which I enjoyed, tbh), EO2 has the most unforgiving optional superboss. McFrugal fucked around with this message at 07:36 on Jan 5, 2019 |

Hey, looking for some 2-player local multiplayer games (PC only, I have a PS3 but it's going to be boxed up soon due to lack of use) to play with a friend. I'm not 100% sure of what he likes actually, he's been "out of the loop" due to only having a lovely 6 years old laptop, but I'm certain he likes arcadey driving games and action / rpg / open world games like Skyrim, Tomb Raider or Assassin's Creed, and probably doesn't like FPS or RTS. I own 2 controllers and I can run every modern game, so no limitations there. Ideally I'd like a cooperative rather than competitive game, or at least something that won't end our friendship What should I be looking at? Most of the games I own are singleplayer only, and nowadays it's kinda hard to find something with local multiplayer. Gone are the days of having friends over, smoking some weed and wasting hours playing videogames
