They seriously think a sub 100 watt (hell, mostly sub 10 watt) 5g tower hundreds or thousands of feet away with a 60+ degree beam pattern is "causing covid" by burning up the o2 molecules in the air so you can't breath, because 5g = 60ghz which is the resonant frequency of o2 molecules. I literally just stare and break out in sarcasm at that point because there's literally no point in trying to fact check that kind of wildly wrong nonsense when they'll just deny it and drop more bullshit again the next minute.

I'd ask about the other, non-respiratory symptoms and bizarre after effects, but I'm stuck on "burning O2 molecules". What does that even mean? Are they breaking the molecules apart or are they somehow causing fission? Shouldn't every plant in the area spontaneously combust because they spit out so much O2 that's being burned?

I'm exhausted and my new therapist dropped me without even meeting me so that's a cool thing to wake up to. But my step-father in-law just so happens to be a shrink with his own practice and I'd avoided going to him for help because he covered my wife's therapy and I knew he'd do the same for me and I didn't feel right taking advantage of that. But my wife talked to him when I left to make a storage run and he wants me to come by and meet with one of his staff that he thinks would be a good match for me so I have that going for me. SOrry to bitch when some of you are in actual physical danger. I've been exercising retail therapy to deal with my poo poo but that only works for a short time. Today my wife's best friend stopped by to see the new house and she brought her toddler with and he just tore through the house like a monster and it just reafirmed my choice to never have kids but I also have this sense of dread because not a week goes by without a major child shaming event and I'm worried that I'm running out of patience to deal with it in a civil manner. On the plus side, I really love my new house. We picked out new flooring for the basement and what we're calling the "lounge" upstairs and we have a guy coming to gives quotes on painting today. Gonna run to Menards and buy a shed in a few hours as well.

my sw20 is out of commission after, on my way to work wednesday night, i hit a gigantic road construction ditch at ~25MPH that was not marked, which bent my enkei rpf1's that i've only had for like 4 months and destroyed my steering rack and busted my driver's side front strut mount. and that's just the damage i can see; i'm mediocre, at best, as a backyard mechanic, so i am towing it to a shop later this week to have it inspected by professionals to determine what else might have been busted. the suspension geometry looks all kinds of hosed up and frankly i just hope the frame isn't hosed at this point. i am going after the city to cover the cost of repairs, and i have a dashcam so i don't think it will be a super hard fight for me. but even though this happened wednesday i am still absolutely loving livid and just posting here to vent. this poo poo is so dumb, i don't understand how the gently caress this even happened. even the tow truck driver said 'wow that is really negligent of them' when we were bringing my car back home and went over the ditch. e: also they don't even sell manual steering racks for my car anymore so i don't even know what my options are there, ugh DEEP STATE PLOT fucked around with this message at 11:07 on Sep 13, 2020 |

But there is a definite difference, when I compare identical music the rips are nice and clear while the stream is muddy. Pretty happy with the setup (Klipsch) for right around $500 it was totally worth it.

I just took an impromptu road trip with the baby and the dogs (Great Dane and a pit mix) for the first time so I could escape the smoke in LA, and I desperately need more cargo space. I bought a trailer hitch cargo carrier from HF that worked great, except for my rear facing exhaust which melted part of my cooler (I knew this was a potential issue but figured it'd be fine if I wasn't stuck in stop and go, but it wasn't). I know an expensive hard top carrier like a Yakima is the best solution in terms of things like wind noise and ease of use, but I'm trying to find something more reasonably priced and also available in person today. So far my best bet looks to be this Sherpak roof bag at REI. I know it will affect gas mileage and don't really care about that, but I'm hoping the wind noise isn't too ridiculous. Are these decent enough for occasional long trips? I'll get a better solution eventually, but wasn't trying to rush into one. I do have a full aftermarket roof rack with 9 bars FWIW. I debated just strapping the stroller and bassinet to the roof rack, which would help a lot, but I didn't want to essentially smoke blast them for 100 miles. And am I crazy for thinking some aluminum foil or baking sheet against the cooler will protect it from the exhaust on the way home? I could put some cheap over mitts there or something too.

Got a photo of the setup? A deflector on that corner of the carrier frame to stop the exhaust gas blasting directly at what's on it may work?

# ? Sep 13, 2020 18:43 |

Not the best photo unfortunately, but I currently have the cargo carrier off the car and sitting in the garage of a relative's house so this is all I got: You can see the exhaust here:

I ha e used a “SportRack” for over 10 years at least on trips to Florida like a big Yakima or thule and never had bad wind issues but it’s always been a few inches over the roof so not like a vortex area underneath. From factory Ford Taurus wagon and explorer roof racks to now Thule roof racks

Mostly the backing off in food, of course. In crappier news, my AC shot the bed Saturday night. Sounds like the compressor locked up. The outside fans and inside unit are working, but the compressor just... buzzes. AC guy is on the schedule for today, prepping my wallet for resuscitation. The only thing I have to figure out when I see it is if it will attach to my aftermarket rack as according to him it's meant for a rack with just two crossbars, so it's flat on the bottom with two channels for the crossbars. He's not sure how that will interact with my 8 crossbar rack, but it seems like we should be able to figure something out.
