Yeah, I remember that, and I'm pretty sure she was acting dumb as poo poo and pretending to be confused about normal things because she was obviously loving 143 guy, or close enough, and didn't want that line of interrogation by competent questioners (like Howard) to get any steam.

Shuli quit; they wanted all the "guys in the back" to move to non-salary positions at a reduced salary and he didn't accept the offer. There was also some talk about his marriage being on the rocks, and his wife wanted to move to somewhere down south (Alabama or something) so he followed her.

Brent was given the "resign or be fired" ultimatum and was likely incentivized to select the former, which he did. This is why you seem him shouting from rooftops that he wasn't fired despite what all the rumor mongering says. He's not wrong but he buries the lede.

It was actually kind of the reverse. He moved away with his family to Alabama because it was cheap or something right when Howard renewed, so the show re-evaluated the whole staff. Because he moved away (to much cheaper place), they essentially cut his pay massively and assigned his wack packer duties to others. I think he also mentioned they were taking away his benefits, so probably non-salary, but they didn't do that everyone.

Brent still claims he wasn't forced to resign and Shuli actually agrees with Brent's story. He claims he was sick of NYC and wanted to move back to Florida and do something new. Of course it has been a total failure, but he always overestimated himself anyway. The "we are going to fire you because you did coke in the studios" still seems plausible to me, but who knows.

when he's on, he's on fire. but when he isn't, I just want him to shut the gently caress up so I can hear everybody else

Agreed about this, I couldn't give two shits about the Yankees or Giants. I watch NFL for my home team's games but I'm not really big into sports. The discussion almost always became one of those "we beat you!" kind of things where guys inexplicably act like they did anything to influence the game's outcome other than sit on their rear end on the couch

Listening to 2003, they're talking about Pete Townsend's CP allegations, and how it affects how you listen to old Who songs. Howard was also playing Staind. He said "Yeah, this song is great and all but let's see what this guy's about (Aaron Lewis) in 20 years!" Just a funny tiny little aside where I was like yeah, even though I wasn't really a fan, some Staind songs were okay and now I can't stand anything about the band because he's such a jingoist shithead.

As someone who grew up listening to prank calls (Jerky Boys, other random bootlegs and internet things) and did plenty myself (they were terrible, but I have some funny stories), Sal and Richard are the best of all time. Their "prime" might have passed due to technology, but their new calls to this day are still usually pretty good. Sal's obsession with pizza places have never gotten old to me because he was tortured by one as a kid and his COVID pizza call from about a year back was great.
