Machine learning in a vacuum is fine but is honestly mostly used just to enforce our biases automatically because nobody bothers to get fair data samples.

Actually that's a really good point. They cut down the testing of vaccinated players, but the shot is really now better at making Covid not be as bad, it's only somewhat effective at having you not catch it. Putting the testing back at last season levels will help catch people quickly to prevent spreading.

I'm not sure about the size either because it hasn't exactly helped his post game and seems to have come at expense of this outside shot. But really, he's still putting up 24/10/3/2/1 on .534 EFG so this idea that he's playing badly is driving me nuts. Like yeah he's shooting sub 20% from 3 but he takes 2 a game and even if he can't hit them just the taking of them is enough to keep it on his defender's mind.

I just noticed something. The 76ers are playing .500 basketball without Ben Simmons. This should be front-page news.

Jarrett Allen had a TS% of 103% a few nights back. That doesn't happen everyday.

With all the 3P record talk. It's a good time to appreciate the 2P record:

code:
Player 2P
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 15836
Karl Malone 13443
Wilt Chamberlain 12681
Julius Erving 11684
Michael Jordan 11611
Shaquille O'Neal 11329
LeBron James 11040
I doubt it'll ever be broken what with even modern eight foot tall NBA players wanting to take a boatload of threes. Whereas, in a few years there could be more Stephen Curry disciples.

Lol.

For anyone who doesn't remember, there was a health nut craze re:wine about 10-15 years ago with a focus on a particular molecule called resveratrol. The bulk of the research on resveratrol was done by a guy called Dipak Das. It all turned out to be fake. Virtually all of his papers were retracted.

https://retractionwatch.com/category/by-author/dipak-das/

And, as many people pointed out, in order to dose yourself with the equivalent amount of resveratrol used in the animal trials in his papers, one would have to drink several hundred or thousand (can't remember which) bottles of wine a day.

Like what would an "alternate owner" mean or are they just creating more weird executive titles that sound like you're manipulating and conquering rajah for the glory of your queen

Serious answer: Alternate governor is the title that actually matters to the league. Like a team can call their scoreboard operator Vice President of Stat Tracking or whatever, but Alternate governor is a job that needs to be filed with the league as that person can then go and vote and poo poo at owners meetings instead of the owner.

Most teams have the role filled by a faceless minority owner or the owners kid so no one cares.
