It's fine.
Don't worry about it.

Wrex is alive in Woolie/Reggie's save file. The issue is probably that this is all poo poo that's in Mordin's loyalty mission, so Wrex isn't around to yell at Shepard to do the right thing.

At this point he might send Grunt into the vents when it comes time for the Suicide Mission, that's some big brain logic right there :stare:

I can't wait for the Suicide Mission. I hope he doesn't make it through with everyone alive as a fluke. I'll probably tune in live for that one, but also probably won't given that I know he's going to spend half an hour on each decision

Well yeah, the first time you see Thane he drops from a vent and kills someone. Ergo he should be in all vents.

It's gonna be:

Crew/Kelly gets melted
Zaeed as Squad Leader
Thane into the vents
Grunt sent back to protect what's left of the crew, the reason being he's powerful and can protect them
Miranda doing the biotic bubble

I can't predict who will be with him on the final attack but Mordin will most likely die during the hold the line part.

I think Crew melted and Thane into vents and Zaeed is all possible, but I reckon he'll get the biotic bubble right somehow.

He’s going to choose Miranda and have Jack and Samara as part of his squad, somehow getting into his head that you’ll be able to switch who is going to hold up the bubble during the encounter

The ultimate villain option would be for Woolie to have Garrus go into the vents and Tali lead the other fire team. Absolutely gut-wrenching deaths.

Yeah but we saw Tali lead a squad st the start of the game while Garrus had already gotten his squad killed before we met him! That must mean she's obviously the better choice.

It's interesting how the little details you overlook are incredibly important for the suicide mission.

Like, yes Tali, Zaeed and Garrus all lead squads, but Tali's people didn't listen to her and died, Zaeed openly states that everyone but him dies on his merc jobs and Garrus was an incredibly effective squad leader who commanded loyalty and respect, Sidonus's betrayal was a wildcard that he couldn't have seen coming.

iirc Jacob, Miranda and Garrus can lead without issue if they are loyal. i do recall from the ME2 thread that it's next to impossible for Miranda to die if she's loyal lol

Specifically with Garrus, his team was hyper-effective so long as he was with them. What got them killed is Garrus was lured away while his team was attacked.

There's a couple pre-prep things that need to be done. First, everyone has to be loyal, so you need to have done their special missions. Anyone who is not loyal will die or get someone else killed. This bit is tricky because recruiting Legion starts a timer. You have time to do one more mission after recruiting Legion before most of the Normandy's crew is kidnapped by the Collectors. And resolving that means starting the final suicide mission. Delaying the final mission after that means some/all of the Normandy NPCs turn into Slurpee mush for the Reapers, depending on how long you screw off for. The "optimal" solution is to do Legion's loyalty mission immediately after you get them, but it's very easy to mess that up on a blind playthrough.

You also need to get 3 ship upgrades or 3 squadmates will die in the cutscene at the start of the mission:

If you don't have Heavy Ship Armor, then Kasumi or Jack will die.

If you don't have Multicore Shielding, then Garrus, Grunt, Kasumi, Legion, Tali, Thane, or Zaeed will die.

If you don't have the Thanix Cannon, then Garrus, Grunt, Jack, or Samara will die.

In the mission itself choices that "work" are:

Tech specialist crawls through the vents: Kasumi, Legion, or Tali

Second fire squad leader: Garrus, Jacob, or Miranda.

Strong biotic to shield against the Collector swarm: Jack or Samara

A leader for the distraction team: Garrus, Jacob, or Miranda

Someone to escort the Normandy crew to safety: Anyone loyal can do this, but it's suggested to do Mordin here if he's not in your squad for the final fight. If he's not in one of those two spots, he almost never survives the background defense checks the game is running.

I like the Suicide Mission in concept and in ME2 but I think thematically and logistically, they should’ve kept it for ME3.

Accounting for all of the death combinations in ME2 had to have been hell and nerve wracking.

Thematically, a suicide mission to defeat the Reapers once and for all fits better than a suicide mission to defeat their cannon fodder. Of course, the story would need to be reworked for both and changes would need to be made.

I mean the dream is always There Is No Reaper Saga, and instead Mass Effect is a bunch of different Shepherd and Friends Adventures, aka the parts of it that are actually good

The Reapers were defeated in ME1 because without Sovereign they're trapped in Dark Space hibernation forever, on to the next thing

You could even still have the collectors in 2, just have them not be reaper puppets charged with the Dumbest Job Of All Time

It certainly explains why all the ME2 crew are just bit parts in ME3, Wrex breaks this trend as even though he could be dead and replaced by Wreav, Bioware know nobody would have done it.

It's exactly this, plus a "He touched me! I'll never wash this hand again!" gag in Spongebob where the joke was the famous person is filthy.

The guy who wrote the email noted that Johnny Bravo was a brash doofus that women hated, and he noted this, and tried to get popular by being stinky (due to the Spongebob ep) and polite (due to Johnny Bravo).
