How do you not put Chargers as SB contenders if this was week 1

Diva Cupcake

They've replaced just Jordan Love being Super rear end, with the entire Green Bay Packers team, which is probably more accurate.

I think it includes the previous game as week 1. So the Chargers would be 0-1, because, y'know, they lost that game pretty soundly.

I watched that Chiefs game and was kind of shocked Mahomes had over 400 yards. I guess those huge chunks to Kelce every third play add up.

It helped a lot that the Chargers played the most pillow soft coverage that you've ever seen on every third down. Defensive Genius Brandon Staley, everyone.

the Ravens are not as great as having no problems moving the ball against the Browns defense on the road or dismantling the Lions would suggest, but they are not as bad as losing to the "Big Ken" Steelers and Minshew Colts would also indicate. they basically are a good team that can find novel ways to trip on its dick every week

It is truly wild to see DVOA rankings and the KC defense is not 20th or worse.

Speaking of DVOA... it's calling Sunday the most dominating win the Ravens have ever had.

I remember that BAL-KC playoff game. Started off with Jamaal Charles housing an incredible 40 yard run and then the Ravens just pounded KC into absolute dust for the remainder.

Matt Cassel completed 50% of his 18 passes, for 70 yards and 3 picks.
The leading receiver was TONY MOEAKI with 1 catch for 22 yards.
Dexter McCluster was 2nd with 4 catches for 17 yards.

Not very surprising. Defense has been excellent every game, and the offense hasn't been stopped by anything except their own ineptitude. But for 9 drops, self inflicted fumbles, and some really poor refs they'd be undefeated. That said, but for Detroit the competition hasn't been top end. I agree with MS that the Ravens are a good not great team with the potential to be super bowl contenders if they hit their stride at the right time.

Not that Chargers fans really need another point against Staley, but JC Jackson has been solidly good back with the Pats.

They scored 22 points if your offense can’t beat that it has issues. Especially with all the hype Purdy had

It's very important to not shoot yourself in the face multiple times but the Niners average drive ended on like the Vikings 30, it was more like the offense kept blowing tires than having an engine that wouldn't start. Which is still frustrating in the context of this loss but I think going forward if the plan to stop the Niners is "they cruise to our 15 and then CMC fumbles" the Niners will be fine.

Whereas the defense just got relentlessly owned on a per-play basis.

God, I'm so tired. What the hell did I post last night?
Yeah, honestly, the Vikings' strategy was more "we're going to keep that ball out of their offense's hands for as much as humanly possible", and it worked very well because the offense hosed up the few times they did get it. Like, the Vikings had like three drives max in the entire first half, four if you count the one that immediately produced an interception. None of those ended in punts, but they all worked on eating clock.
