In ME3 you are just incredibly done with not being listened to anymore and can be as snarky and angry as you damned well please.

I’ve played the trilogy all the way thru some 15-17 times over the years, and about half of those were renegade. And in all those renegade playthroughs, I only had Wrex die once in ME1. Otherwise I couldn’t stomach being mean to my crew. Thankfully there’s more than enough checks that you can be a friendly loyal captain, a jerk to everyone else, and still be full renegade. I’ve also done playthroughs where I go mostly down the middle, as the situation calls for it. Those were my favorite. You’d often not have a renegade/paragon choice available in a given situation, so it kept some moments tense with hard decisions to make. Otherwise you could always fix every problem with a third/optimal solution and that gets old. chaosapiant fucked around with this message at 04:29 on Apr 30, 2024 |

Shepard in ME5 should be a clone/reaper cyborg/AI (depending on whether they picked destroy, synthesis or control) reanimated by Harbinger (who preserved some of its processes somehow) to fight the Leviathans. EDIT: Harbinger's remaining processes, residing in a robot body is squad member number one.

I refrained from shooting Wrex in ME1 once, so that I could shoot him in ME3 instead. Not really worth the wait though.

Not to interrupt Toy Effect posting but I have a question regarding Biotics. So Human Biotics have implants in their nervous systems that let them manipulate mass effect fields. Can these implants be upgraded? Biotic Shepard has L3 Implants, Kaiden has L2 which give him migraines and Jack has L5 Implants. Is it a case where you're stuck with the generation hardwired into you or can you opt for surgery to upgrade? This is probably written in the codex somewhere but I'm too lazy to look.

you can but alliance health insurance doesn't cover it as migraines are a "not service-connected disability"

Arc Hammer posted:Not to interrupt Toy Effect posting but I have a question regarding Biotics. From what I remember... You can technically upgrade your implants, but it is very uncommon because it's such an intensive and extremely dangerous surgery that — while it is possible — very few people with L2 implants are willing to go through with it, even when they have much worse side effects than Kaidan's due to the significant risk of brain damage.

And Shep 2.0 got upgraded implants during the Lazarus Project, right? Or are they still stuck with L3s?
|
# ? May 14, 2024 23:46 |
|
Yeah, Shep got upgraded with custom L5's tailored to whatever class they were. Jack's class at Grissom academy have L4s with custom VI assistants to keep them from spiking back into their brain like L2s did.

If ME4 takes place like ~700 years from ME3, like some speculate, then Biotics ought to be something that can induced surgically and/or through genetic modifications. Also, gene modification (gene for a synthetic protein) that allows Dextro species to metabolize Levo proteins, and vice versa, should exist. In ME3, gene therapy can eliminate heritable disease. There's no way adding a synthetic protein would be out of bounds 700 years later.
