I am loud, I take competitive Counterstrike real seriously and like to talk poo poo about skill while being a confirmed hacker, and my parents will be super harsh and strict on me because my older bro became a drug dealer. Oh and the drat bird gets ornery if she hasn't been fed a piece of fruit.

my grandparents had two african grays. it turns out it is possible to exist for decades in a house filled with loud screeching every morning at or before 6 am also the birds outlived the humans so if you'd rather your pet see you die then the other way around, a bird might be a good choice

Look for a sanctuary instead.

there are tons of stock doves where i live and they are sooo chill they have this usper calming call that sounds like hoo hoooooo... also they mate for life and you usually see them strolling the grass with their bird lover

I hit a pidgeon with my car a few weeks ago and I had to pull over to the side of the road because I had a minor panic attack. Poor Mister Pibbg. (I gave my victim a name) Otherwise I have seagull buddies at work that I toss fries to when people are sitting outside at lunch, and then i go inside and let said people deal with the 10 or other gullbuddies that show up screeching and parading around. Seagulls best bird.
