Directed by: Robert Luketic Starring: Reese Witherspoon, Luke Wilson, Selma Blair, Matthew Davis, Victor Garber There are funny moments (particularly those concerning Jennifer Coolidge as the manicurist) but I couldn't help but feel this movie utterly failed at conveying its intended message. Elle does not prove herself to be a smart person or a great attorney. Her great triumphs in the courtroom are 1) knowing that a man is gay if he can recognize designer shoes and 2) knowing that you don't shower after getting a perm. As far as legal matters are concerned, she's still a bumbling idiot. What happens when she gets a case that doesn't involve fashion at all? RATING: 2.5 PROS: occasionally humorous CONS: otherwise retarded ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0250494/
