I was with my friend, red Bandit 650 and white CBF 125.

Went out on my bike earlier and came across this fella with his Monster 600. After 18 months of riding bikes, he ended up in an accident that left him paralysed, that was 40 years ago. Since then, he's been modifying bikes for side-car wheelchair action. Dude loves his bikes.

moist turtleneck posted:I'd love to see a new Magna as well. I was really hoping the new V4's would spawn a Fury that would actually deserve the name. I love my Hammer, but I loved being much more nimble on the Magna. Plus, Harley riders would pull up to me on my Magna and make fun of it for having "fake pipes", since cruisers can only have two pipes! Too bad those "fake pipes" allowed it to go like a bat out of hell when the light turned green after they made fun of it. An old comparison pic of the size difference between the Hammer and Magna: and that oil spot is not from the Magna. I've had a go on a friends '87 Super Magna (imported from the US, 1 of only 4 in the UK apparently) and it goes like stink, seriously. It'll rip your arms off up to 90.

Also, every Matchless I've seen, no matter how mint leaks oil like a sieve so I'd say that patch of oil is definitely from that bike.

Yup. Story goes his wheel nut came flying off and a spectator saw it, picked it up and went running to a marshal.

I rented a Harley Davidson on my birthday just to give it a go and what not (I normally ride a Z750). I initially booked in for a Sportster, XL1200 or something but it was sold before the rental day so they "upgraded" me to a Fat Bob dyna. It was a lovely cream colour and looked pretty nice actually. Despite the fact that it was a poo poo engine that would transmit a fuckload of vibration through the entire bike and bars, giving me white finger vibration and I'm sure if I'd ridden it long enough I'd eventually have Raynaud's Syndrome I can still see some of the appeal to it. It turns heads (despite the fact the one I was riding had a stock exhaust that made it sound like some poo poo chinese 250) and the vibration kind of gives it character. The feet forward controls were weird as hell at first. I took off from the Dealer trying to put my feet where the pegs are on my Z750 but eventually you get used to it and it is comfortable until you start doing motorway speeds (about 70mph). Then you've got to really plant your feet to stop them getting blown off the pegs and because of the angle of your body, where you're leaning back; you can't get proper purchase on the bars, so you're literally hanging on. The bike I rented: My cousin trying his best to look hard hah (thinking of getting a HD when he turns 50, rides a Streetfighter at the moment, behind him is the 749 he just bought to do up as a track bike):
