I'd care less than it being a ~corvette~ engine an more what production code the engine is. I'd rather have something like a generic Vortec from a late 90's truck than some hunk of smog-pumped garbage from a late 70's C3.

Its not the smog poo poo to worry about as that's all easily ripped off. Its the heads, cam, etc that I would have greater concern with. 1970s 350s were not known for breathing well, but can be worked over to make run, decently.

But yeah, all swapped motors are Corvette motors according to craigslist.

Why would anyone use a 1980s 305 intentionally? They're awful. Terrible power and nearly identical in work required to other, better SBCs.

I would use one if I was expecting to have to make custom brackets and poo poo for it and it was $free-$50. Get it in, working, don't worry at all about accidentally loving up a thread or damaging it in some way, then run it till it either pops due to abuse or I found a better SBC, which is now bolt-in.

Possible gold-it's a 1980 320i in the Midwest with what looks to be a straight body for $1500. "Needs fuel pump." I'd check it out if I wasn't tapped out from my latest Volvo purchase.

Thats too good not to have a screen cap of:

Currently selling a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited As-Is with about 195k mileage . Jeep was stuck in a water/mud hole and could not get it started after pulling it out, I have no knowledge of fixing it or whats wrong with it and cannot afford to get it up and running. Interior and body is excellent condition excluding the water/mud damage that has occurred.

Here is the catch, The Jeep is currently off road on a 4x4 trail west of Boulder, CO and will need to be fixed to drive out of there, or towed.

Attached Photo is actual jeep submerged in the water.

Any questions please feel free to ask.

I think my favorite part is that after he explains that he murdered his Jeep by drowning he starts the next paragraph off by saying Here is the catch

I think this may be one of my all time favorites. As if you cannot buy those things all day long, running, not sitting in some fuckoff trail for under $2,000.
This clowns only hope is that he can give it to someone with an M35 to drag it out so he doesn't get stuck with a poo poo ton of fines.

Those are the best stock wheels, and the best trunk spoiler for the car. That price is fantastic though, buy that thing now if you want a white S2K

I suppose it makes sense, there is currently only one roadster on the market under $40k (miata), undoubtedly putting pressure on the used market.

If you live in the desert, any other color is asking to scald yourself if you touch it in the afternoon, or have the clear coat peel if you park it outside. Counterintuitively, it's one of the easiest colors to keep looking clean, because dust doesn't mess with reflections off the surface as much, because reflections have very low contrast making it hard to notice.

White is the most practical color.

For most of the same reasons, except you're trading dirt being more noticeable from reflections for dirt being less noticeable for dinginess, and losing a little bit of the protection from sunlight. It does make the contours of the car more apparent, though.

Selling my 1991 300ZX (Z32) 2+2 n/a (not twin turbo)
runs and drives great
5spd manual
straight body with pearl black paint
leather
t-tops
stock except wheels and stereo
American Racing wheels
good tires
Kenwood stereo head unit
professional tune-up in June
new water pump, timing belt, all the mid-life crisis stuff
tabs good until 5/2015

cons:
rear struts are going bad
clear coat coming off and a few scratches
leather seats have some tears

more photos available

$4500 obo
text, call or email

Additional cons:

Climate control does not work (fans don't blow *at all*)
Antenna does not work, clock does not work
Dashboard brake light comes on whenever brakes are pressed
Oil pressure gauge does not work ("oh huh i didn't notice that")
(I'm guessing all these add up to 'electrical issues')

Cracked windshield
Engine compartment missing parts (like throttle cable cover, a couple of bolts on the intake manifold)
T-tops leak ("but they all do, right? :v:")
Engine actually sounds kinda rough
Timing belt work was "purportedly" done by prior owner, no documentation ("but my mechanic would have mentioned if that hadn't been done! :v:")

I will give him this, the front end looked okay, in stark contrast to other 300s I see on CL where there's *obviously* been a frontal collision thanks to everything being misaligned, like below for example:

Yeah I love those old 'burbans! So much room.

I find myself wanting a vehicle with that much storage space as I get older and do more outdoorsy things, but with my 20+mpg and manual transmission requirements, it's basically impossible.
