 My mom is 56 and while she's always been pretty adventurous, she's gone turbo mode the last couple of years since her husband died from cancer. She mentioned wanting to learn to skateboard but said she was afraid it would be embarrassing for a woman her age to be seen skating. I convinced her by telling her that I'd learn to skate too if she would.

So she bought a couple of Penny Nickel boards and I've spent a few hours practicing and can ride, push, and turn pretty good. She's still trying to balance on the board but next time I see her I'm hoping I can help her get comfortable with pushing and riding.

Well, that's my skateboarding story. I'm a 33 year old man who skateboards with his mom.
