Stabbey_the_Clown posted:I'm in The Last Story I've finally reached the (apparent) Final Boss the traitor. After a very long and drawn-out fight, using Mirania's Revive Spirit Skill more than half-a-dozen times just to keep me hanging on by my fingernails, I finally put it down... only for the fight's THIRD stage to begin. ... I just had nothing left in the tank. Had the same problem. Final battle was long and drawn out, used Revive just as much and still lost. Then I grinded and suddenly the boss was easier, the battle was faster, and I only died once. The difference those 5 levels make is insane. Also set attack to manual at least for the first phase because that counterattack is annoying.

dis astranagant posted:Front Mission 3 is great but a bit different from the rest of the Front Mission series so Japan hated it. Vagrant Story is also very good, if a bit clunky and reliant on a crafting system it won't explain. Playing Vagrant Story right now, how reliant on the crafting system? I tried messing around with it, but gave up because I couldn't figure out how it worked.

I could have sworn Blue Dragon had a boss where the music would sync up so it would like the boss was doing the shouting part at the beginning of Eternity during their intro cutscene, but looking around for a few minutes it looks like it doesn't so that game can go into the garbage.

I only played the demo, but the music was enough to sell me on the game, it's really good as well as it's usage in certain spots. Also don't know if this says more about the game or me, but I ended up caring way too much about Toriel. Like on paper she sounds really stupid, a character literally named tutorial who literally hand holds you through the first few areas, but she ended up working out in execution.

I just remembered Taro Yoko's idea about an enemy's attack that could mess with the FPS when asked about Nier: Automata running 60FPS and the main character being an android is perfect for that. I hope they got a few more UI tricks planned.

Clarste posted:While, ideally the translation is amusing in itself, regardless of whether you get the reference. The "dragon for I love you" thing makes sense in context, and seems to fit the character's personality. If the other translation that usually gets shown alongside "dragon for I love you" is accurate it also gets the same idea across. A kid saying I love you in a goofy way to their parent gives the feeling that they are happy to be with them.

Neddy Seagoon posted:Except that "I'm happy that we'll be together forever" "I'm really happy" is redundant and sounds like bad writing rather than making the character sound childishly goofy. Yeah, it's an excellent translation choice all around I'm just confused why that line and it's translation is being compared at all. It gets the same idea across, makes sense in context, fits the character, and it is a bad writing to have your character announce how they feel in English.

Speaking of Shadow Hearts can someone talk about the horror elements of it. I keep seeing talk about how it all went away after 2, but nothing specific. They are able to be specific about the goofy stuff like the Man Festival, Wolf Bouts, or collecting gay porn. It just makes it seem like it has always been a comedy series and that From the New World took it too far.

I'm completely out of items and I don't know if I've managed to complete any more side missions. The Wildlands feels slightly tougher than I should be at right now, but they seemed better than the other two locations so I'm wondering if I'm just approaching fights wrong? Letting you know now the bosses of every other area gets stronger on day 7 (Yusnaan, the party city's boss gets even stronger on day 10) so focus on the other areas for now. The boss of the Wildlands stays the same even to the last day so you can take your time there.
