But hey, a free market will regulate itself I'm sure.

We are honestly trying to change things at Tweet Forum. It will be a serious discussion with serious people trying to find themselves through knowledge and self-empowerment. I want it to be a community where everyone is respected, and can grow including me. I have many plans for Tweet Forum 2.0 which will be a fully loaded custom built social news engine that will blend social media and news perfectly together like good wine and cheese. The bigger the site gets, the larger the payouts will be. I am not here to scam anyone, I am not here to cause trouble, and I just want a better future for everyone.

Bitcoin is a great way to make money for anyone; I see the way some people talk about Bitcoins on all these different forums. I can assure you that I don't care, because I am making lots of money with Bitcoin, and the dollar bills in my pocket aren't as "ridiculous" as some of you may think. I assure you that if we put our trust on each other, we can change business as usual. Jessy came after me because my site didn’t match her professional opinion, and I respect her for that, however I was going to give the girls more freedom, and even less over head than they had now. We were only going to require simple age verification, but other than that any male/female was welcome to join the site.

I wanted people to make money from the comfort of their own homes, and earn more than some doctors do, and yeah that’s completely none traditional, and maybe goes against any adult marketer’s perfect vision of an adult cam site. However, I am a dreamer and sometimes I do need to be grounded, but please see that the things that provoked me were things that went against the entire purpose of a wide spread open source currency. Technically these people are already in several different cam sites like Camfrog and Yahoo Cams where women & men perform erotic acts for money and/or "virtual gifts".

Bitcoins alone could fuel an underground video cam market, but honestly it just hasn't caught on with the general public yet. I am going to make it easier for men/women to obtain Bitcoins, and use them through a huge verified cam network, that was built strictly for their own pleasures. No reasonable fetish will be excluded, and everyone will be welcome as long as they follow basic legal guidelines. These will all take time, however I am not a quitter, and neither are my team mates who have been so patient with me and who have had my back every step of the way.

I hope to see some of you guys at Tweet Forum, this is seriously my last post about anything that has to do with Bitcams. If you guys want to talk Bitcams please wait for me to open up the new thread once we have some serious content to show you guys. That will be where you guys can give your input on Bitcams, but please not here this is about TweetForum and nothing else. So to leave this all off Bitcoin isn’t going anywhere, Somethingawful isn’t going anywhere, and neither is Tweet Forum. I think we can all agree we don’t like at least one thing in this equation. :)

I think a libertarian paradise where every citizen, young and old, man or women, black or white, can make more money than doctors from the comfort of their home is a noble goal worth striving for.

Godspeed, Vegetta

It seems bitcoin hit $13.10 earlier tonight and is now sitting around $13.37. The decline post-hack seems to be pretty steady, around $0.50 a week.

Also, I like the idea that Vegetta probably found out about this thread because he saw a hundred-fold increase in his forum traffic and found in his referrer logs that it all came from here.

Can someone educate me what possible advantage I had, if I was a cam-girl, to sign up to a dubious Bitcoin site considering that
- less userbase
- much more transaction cost
- I have to discount my earnings a ton based on risk of holding bitcoins (which I can't really use and can't withdraw quickly enough)

I mean there has to be some advantage that is so big that it would even out these costs of opportunity, since at least on a calculative basis I would literally be losing money on this Bitcoin site.

People could pay that company money to shut down waste disposal companies, so they outsource mercenaries to help enforce public safety. But if some people refuse to pay for safe waste disposal, that means everyone suffers, so the majority who want safety and not tumours pay mercenaries to shake down the minority to force them to pay for the good of the public.

So they've created an EPA, taxes and police, ex nullus. Government self-assembles, or rather, is one of the lowest energy states for society to be in. That's why it is how it is now. The only way for any system to be more viable is if it is an actually lower energy state. The benevolent and omniscient Minds of the Culture series is the only system that comes to mind: everything is planned out so thoroughly and influenced so subtlety with technology so in abundance that anyone can really do basically anything and piss no-one off and lack nothing.

To a libretarian, that just disproves your point. Company can't compete in a free market, so they manipulate the government to regulate their competition out of business. People should be able to buy rotten food if they prefer. And if they didn't know it's rotten, that's their own fault for not taking the time to travel all over the country and performing surprise inspections of every link of the supply chain for every product they buy

It still blows me away how stupid Vegetta is about Kang not being interested in his "business." She offered some advice and he offers her a job and then immediately gets on her case about her "lack of credentials." It's as though I showed up to, say, the Boston Celtics office to do some editing for their programs or whatever. Then, the guys in the office say "hey, do you want to be a Boston Celtic?" While I'm flabbergasted, they start ripping on me for being 5'6" and out of shape. Dude, she just doesn't want to be on your team. You are the LA Clippers of small business.

Also, I'm not into any sort of fetish scene, but even I know that dominatrix-type women aren't actually about putting down their man or men in general. It seems like the guy and the gal both do it for fun and in good humor, which is two things Vegetta knows nothing about. Well, besides sex.

Now think about what happens if company A owns a significant chunk of the press and gets them to publish stories about how the damage is in fact caused by something else and any claims to the contrary are just lies by competitor B to distract from the fact they make their product by massacreing little fluffy bunnies. Getting enough reliable information to consumers for them to make a rational choice is hard; the Bitcoin forums are actually a good demonstration of that. So are various other things that would inevitably drive this thread waaay off topic.
They don't even need to own the press or anything. All they have to do is rebrand their product. Absent government regulations, a factory farm could label its meat organic or free range. Or a junk food company could print false dietary information that says that their product is super healthy. Or if people turn against a company they could just sell their product directly to stores to be rebranded as Great Value or Kroger brand stuff. Even if people decide a certain product is bad, there is no way without regulations to prevent an information asymmetry that prevents them from buying the exact same crap.

And this is all assuming that the externalities eventually do affect everyone, which is a bad assumption. Factory farms have extreme regional impacts and much smaller national impacts. It's still a rational decision for people in the city to buy cheap meat that fucks over communities near the CAFO.

As much as libertarians like to talk about the free market, they have virtually no grasp of any economics more advanced than supply and demand. Try getting any of them to explain how externalities are handled in libertopia, and you can practically hear them on the other side of the internet, googling "externalities" to figure out what you're talking about.

That's pretty much true all over the world. Since you need to be able to consent to contracts independently of parents/guardians to do porn, almost all countries have the legal age to be in a porno or to work a sex line, etc, as 18 even when the age to gently caress is lower.
