The local record shop had The Hammer Party and that's hard to get in Australia so I had to go get it and picked up Pig Pile at the same time. Next I need Racer-X and Atomizer and I'll be happy with my Big Black collection, but both of those are still pressed and won't be going anywhere soon so no rush.

Is this just a mislabel?

I can't find any other examples that have the same label color combination.

Most other versions also have the all rights reserved text, that my copy is missing.

The only one that does not, is a Winchester pressing. However that version on discogs both labels are orange.

I haven't seen a mislabel, where the text is correct, but the label color is different.

Any help identifying what this is would be appreciated

just add a new version to discogs if it doesn't match any of the other ones. if it is a variation no one has added you'll have contributed, and if you get it wrong some nerd will merge it with the correct one

Could it be sun damage on one side fading the orange into yellow?

that was my first thought

also, going through my stuff and just realized I didn't post my most recent acquisitions (there's also a copy of tormato that isn't in this picture, but anyone who cares already knows what that one looks like)

The one in the upper right is a self-titled EP (45 rpm 12") by a French punk group called The Pupils that I snagged just based on the cover. I like it.

The Donnie Iris record isn't the one with "Ah Leah" on it

Mr Lewis is a local (?) group I saw once when I was asked out to a burlesque night. I remember liking them pretty well.

re: Raspberries, I cannot believe I didn't have a copy of the record with Overnight Sensation on it, which is some kind of pomp-rock masterpiece. This is now rectified, and the whole record is excellent.

I don't think so. While the picture looks yellowish , in person it's more of a cream color.

I'm going to take Strap on Revenges advice and add it to discogs.

Thank you for asking. It went perfectly, 70 degrees and sunny and was set up on the patio. I played for 6 hours, and I am really glad that I decided to cue up Dark Side of the Moon's Brain Damage and Eclipse when totality hit. It was a really special event and I received so many compliments afterwards. :3:

That's a really pretty color/pattern on that record. It's not often that colored vinyl makes me stop and go ooo these days as its become so common.

I wish it was more common. I was all set to pull the trigger on this: https://shop.brooklynvegan.com/products/outkast-atliens-25th-anniversary-edition-2xlp

Until I saw it’s just a sleeve of 4 generic vinyls. It’s ATLiens. You can’t at least do a translucent green? Or match the cover and do two teal and two green?

Got my first random message on discogs of some guy in Germany wanting to buy a Bauhaus record off of me. How common is that kind of thing? I haven’t and don’t plan on selling anything anytime soon. My collection is still relatively small.

it happens, but unless they're offering to buy it THROUGH discogs it can get dodgy. the couple times I did it outside of discogs I only did it because their sellers/buyers ratings was really high. So the risk for the un-taxed money was worth it.

yeah just a sorry not looking to sell. they're usually blasting that offer out to all the people that own the record anyways hoping one bites.

Me too. There was one I even left a "review" on stating basically HEY IF YOU WANT TO SELL THIS EVER DM ME. 16 people had it in their Discogs collection, and one hadn't been sold there since 2012.

And like a year later someone messaged me and I bought it.

Sometimes you just gotta cast that line out into the ocean and hope you get a bite.

i don't really want to show up to my usual stop first thing in the morning, when the line is like five blocks long, especially since i work nights and sleep days

like i did last year on little to no sleep

and it's not like I'm going there for anything that's going to instantly sell out (though i wouldn't mind a copy of incasinoout, which definitely will) but I've got that gut feeling that whatever it is i do want, it won't be there when i get in

Ballz

Completely skipped this RSD. I didn’t see anything that stood out as must-owns and it seems more and more RSD releases don’t quickly sell out and can be found for like, half the price a month or so later on discogs.

It’s really been trending in this direction for a few years now. I kind of miss the old days but on the other hand I’m at a point in life where I appreciate a good night’s sleep.

I usually just head out around noon or so and see what’s left and maybe pick up something they’ve been saving in the back to put out when there’s a bunch of people in the store. I like seeing my favorite local spots crowded, mostly.

hexwren
Feb 27, 2008

just woke up, going to go as soon as I'm showered and everything. I've got a list, but very few things on it are must-have, if anything, so it's ironically a much longer list than usual - it's what would be in other years the large middle section of "that might be nice" records below the five or six must-have records that don't exist this year

I stopped going in person because I'd rather get a decent night's sleep versus getting up rear end early and standing in line for hours, only to not get the releases I wanted because the store only got one copy and it sold out before I even get inside the door.

Nowadays I'm firmly subscribed to the "wait for discogs" method of RSD buying.

I went out wanting two things: in/casino/out and HORSE the Band. Figured I’d probably pick up HORSE easy and end up missing atdi, but ended up with the exact opposite. Hit two stores, no sign of HORSE anywhere but managed to snag the only copy of in/casino/out.

Really just didn’t have much else to do today anyway.
