Sintor posted:So, what's the deal with expansions versus VIP etc? You have to buy the expansions -- no matter if you play for free or if you subscribe as a VIP.

Speaking of the cold weather elementals, I feel like they went a little overboard with the "special effects" lighting on that one. I always feel blinded and the crazy bright whiteness gives me a headache so I don't even do the quest anymore. (I play in a normally lighted room, not in the dark. My eyes. )

UnholyCow posted:Also a great thing to get for just about anyone is the Universal Toolkit. 150TP for one item that is only just slightly below the highest tier crafted tool and it works for everything. Okay, I'm purchasing this before the price goes up. Holy crap that's useful.

sassassin posted:Just lost my 24 hr starter horse. What the christ am I supposed to do now? This game is unplayable without something to ride around. Go do the quests in Winterhome and get the permanent festival mount. The mounts from last year cost only 20 tokens, and every quest gives you 4. One of the quests is literally "Take this keg and go over to that dwarf" -- taking all of 10 seconds. The others take a few minutes. Basically you can get a mount within 10-15 minutes if you go there.

By the way, the Mithril Pack is on sale again for $9.99 on Impulse. You get a mount and the Path of the Fellowship Quest Pack (Trollshaws, Eregion, Moria & Lothlorien). It also includes 2000 TP so it's a good deal even if all you want is to buy TP (2k TP costs about $20). http://www.impulsedriven.com/products/ESD-IMP-W2777

Remy Marathe posted:How did you spot this? I haven't seen the weekly sale drop yet and the links to points purchases still show the regular rate. When I go to check if there are lotteries up, I also check the Store page for the upcoming sales: http://archive.lotro.com/lotrostoresale/ (it's updated on Thursdays). In addition to the Double Bonus Points, quest packs are also on sale starting tomorrow (25% off). Midrena fucked around with this message at 20:07 on Mar 14, 2013 |

xZAOx posted:Edit 2: Just logged in to see. It's both (the quest packs and the full expansion - Moria is not on sale). Yeah, both the Rise of Isengard and Riders of Rohan expansions are 30% off in the LotRO store (not just the quest packs) -- ROI and ROR cost 1747 TP and 3007 TP respectively.
