When is Komatsu getting some gourmet cells anyway? Not that he needs to become a muscle man or physically competent, but he does kind of need to become some level of superhuman in order to set foot in the gourmet world. Even if Toriko is right there and will never quit him. Hell, once they move onto the gourmet world there's not reason he can't be a superhuman god by human world standards while still being a big ol' bitch by gourmet world standards.

It's time, Toriko 234!!! A little bit of another teaser chapter with lots of two-page spreads and scary faces, but it looks like Toriko is using that food spirit power on his own which is awesome. Also, I wonder just how strong Aimaru is on his own.

Maybe it's because I just came back from reading Bleach but I want at least one moment where Komatsu casually strolls through a herd of superbeasts and all of them bow down to him Lion King style because of how much respect he has for ingredients.

Aha, I see that Toriko's WANTEAT powers are increasing. I love the Ou Shoku Bansen type enemy on a plate before the hero effect. It's just so stupid and awesome at the same time. There's even a nice glass of wine to go with it.

Komatsu's character arc hasn't involved gaining power at all. He is just as physically weak now as he was in the first chapter. His weakness has even been shown as a virtue at times. Komatsu isn't part of the muscle freak power level escalation and he likely never will be.

You know, I've never read something before that made me stop partway into it and think "wow, this is gay as hell", but here I am. This is in no way a bad thing, but I'm pretty sure there's gay porn that manages to be less homoerotic than this manga is being right now. I mean, this chapter literally features what looks like a man breaking another man in half with the force of his pelvis. Again, this isn't a negative or anything but this is so amazingly homoerotic that King AssFuck of the Gay Sex Mountain is all "whoa man, could you dial it back a bit please"

Can anyone explain to me Toriko's face on page 4? His expression doesn't really match up with the next page. Edit: to be more clear vvv Torkio's face comes off as one of shock, but the next page Starjyun is the one who gets attacked. Did you guys forget that they just killed the stay puft man by combining their hunger into a giant hungry-rear end spirit bomb pacman thing? In terms of powerups, Imagination™ isn't that far away from that. Especially since I'm sure all the characters can imagine is more set pieces where their opponent is on a plate or in their smoothie blender or something.

Haha, I'm glad no one is biting on what is clearly a fake out with Coco. I just don't see anyway one of the four heavenly kings goes down, especially off screen as mentioned before. Zebra winning off screen, however, is incredibly appropriate and I cracked up seeing him put a head lock on the Nitro. The pacing on the Toriko fight seems off. We have seen a lot of them, but except for the beginning of the fight, neither of them have really done anything.
