I just caught up with the last 3 episodes last night and caught a reference I haven't thought about in ages. When Hank answers the phone when their "mom" calls, he answers it "Bula Vinaka Beachside" which is from this commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m13wtKvEYrw Edit: Was beaten. Glad to see I'm not the only one who remembered it though. AFewBricksShy fucked around with this message at 17:26 on Jul 24, 2013 |

bobkatt013 posted:This is still such a great joke and its funnier when doing a rewatch. Despite all of the fantastic episodes that have come out since, that episode is still my favorite. It's a fantastic stand alone episode, but also introduces the pirate captain, Action Man and Kano. Plus it's probably the best Johnny Quest parody of all of the episodes as well. Edit: Holy poo poo, I had pretty much the exact same exchange almost a year ago to the day.: quote:

OtherworldlyInvader posted:I think my favorite music references in VB were the Bowie/Iggy Pop/Klaus Nomi lines in the Season 2 finale. They pack something like a dozen music references in a handful of lines. For me it was the opening of Ghosts of the Sargasso. Edit: 3 of the 4 posts I have in this thread are about that scene.
