A funny thing just occurred to me about neckbeards dressing like film noir detectives to make themselves look classy: Film noir wasn't classy. Noir was darker, scuzzier, less sanitized than the other media of the day. Noir was sex and violence for a less permissive time than today. It was how the 30's and 40's did "gritty". Everybody wore trenchcoats and fedoras because those were the clothes of the common man, which is why the outfit became so synonymous with spies: it's as generic and inconspicuous a look as you can get for the era. It would be the equivalent of people in the year 2090 dressing like the cast of CSI because that's their idea of true class.

That OK cupid is pretty transparently fake unless you want to believe a teenager who watches MLP makes $40k-50k a year. It intentionally goes out of its way to hit a different square of the bingo card with each paragraph. The tie, pants and hat are completely different between the 1st and 2nd images, no amount of white balance is going to make a fedora into a bowler hat. e: also the jacket has a left breast pocket with handkerchief in the second shot, no left breast pocket at all in the first. They are most clearly different outfits.

The photos are noticeably blurrier around the hands and also the area at their waists where his hands probably were originally.
