Great title. I really hope they make some shoe-horned basketball reference. (The Heat won the title last year, too, so it could happen.)

Give it some more time. It gradually gets better and better, and you've yet to see Eddie Izzard or Gillian Anderson. Right now, for you, it might seem just like a "serial killer of the week" show but that's not the case.

That kind of poo poo is what makes the show suck. It takes itself way too goddamn seriously. It needs to embrace its silliness a la True Blood. Well, needed to, I guess. The ship has sailed on that.

Quinn was actually killed by the mobsters last season and the reason he looks so gaunt and skeletal is because he's a ghost. They're going to have him in strange scenes where he only interacts with Dexter, and is ignored by waitresses, and we're going to figure it out 7 episodes before they reveal his corpse in the basement of a church.

Wasn't he kind of paunchy the first time we saw him? Like not huge, just... very slightly chubby? I don't remember

It blows my mind that he's been in 5 seasons and he's been such an inconsequential character.

With that in mind, let's try to come up with our top 5 Quinn moments.

1. Getting high with Batista and solving a case.
2. This is harder than I thought.

I still love this show even if it has gotten rather stupid at times and you could basically skip from like all of season 5 and 6 and not miss a beat. It helps that the dude who plays Dexter is just... so loving good at playing Dexter. I couldn't imagine anyone else

edit: I will say the biggest disappointment last season however, was that Issac was just killed and the end that was it for his plotline. I absolutely loved the dynamic between him and Dexter

Yeah, that's what really soured me on the season. I very much enjoyed the unceremonious murder of Louis, but Ray Stevenson? Really? Right after they became murder buddies, too.

Though I did like the way he insisted on being buried at sea at the exact spot where his lover was buried, even if it might've been a little corny. It made me :3:

Yeah, the first few episodes were really good, and one of the reasons was Louis getting fired, humiliated and killed off so quickly and unceremoniously.

Also, what happened with the hand that he mailed to Dexter? I have forgotten so much. But this is a show I simply refuse to re-watch.

The "leak" is probably on your Showtime on Demand. Even if you don't have Showtime on Demand, it's possible they put it up for you to see it. They did this with other shows: Homeland, The Big C, etc. You didn't even have to have Showtime or Showtime on Demand-- it was up in the free previews section to try and get you to purchase Showtime.

That being said, I'm not interested enough in this show to seek out a truncated version of it 2 hours before it airs.

Okay, I thought that was a really strong episode, but the Season 7 opener was really strong, too. So I'll be cautiously optimistic-- extremely cautiously.

"Are you staring at my rear end?"
"No... I mean yes."

Also, I think my opinion is colored by the fact that I get to watch this and True Blood back to back. True Blood has been especially bad this year. I've always considered the shows to be on about the same tier of "pretty trashy but entertaining" TV.

I think the actress who plays the doctor must have worked out a deal in her contract where she gets paid each time she says "psychopaths". As a viewer am I suppose to know she is an expert on psychopaths? What are psychopaths like? Are there psychopaths here? Are there psychopaths there? Psychopaths.

While the first episode kept my attention I'm largely watching to finish up the series which I think has declined steadily over the years. My biggest gripe is the writing seems lazy. Nobody in any professional circle even uses the term "psychopath" in a formal manner. The writers just like it because it sounds edgy and dangerous.

I do like what they seem to be doing with Deb so far though.

It's a pop psychology buzzword that makes viewers feel like they're learning something when really it's just nonsense. It happens on lots of shows.

edit: beaten, big time. even used the same phrase "pop psycholgoy buzz words [for the] viewers"
