In Negima we probably eventually figure out how to overcome entropy.

She could easily obtain some secondary form of immortality. It isn't like she is lacking in time or resources to search for one. Mermaid flesh would probably be her best bet, as she wouldn't age but could still die as needed.

I could see Ken waste a few issues on having the group randomly hunt mermaids for comedic effect.

i think you're all missing the subtly coolest thing about this chapter, and that's that akamatsu used the time freeze as an excuse to have a four-month timeskip within a single chapter i hope this is a sign of things to come; someone already mentioned it, but i think it would be really cool if, since the entire main cast is immortal, plot arcs take years and even decades to resolve in-universe

Honestly, I'm impressed neither of them cracked sooner. I'm on good terms with my roommate, but if he was the only person left to talk to on earth I'd be praying for a swift death. I guess it helps that Kirie is self-reliant, and Touta is too stupid to care.

Saw a couple of callbacks to aged up Magical World denizens in the guests staying at the UQ Holder inn in the first couple of pages. Looked like that bounty hunter dude, some of the Adriane knights or their descendants (looks like Emily and Bea there), and the Senator dude from Megalo with the hair spikes. Ah, nostalgia. Probably Ken sticking in some cameos for his old fans, but I'd be really happy if they actually acknowledged them and made an impact in this new series... Knew there'd be something up with the chocolates as soon as I saw them. Akamatsu used that gag way too often in his previous series...

I think it has been discussed before but Touta is a Child Emotionally, he does not appear to have a distinction between kinds of Love. So he is going around thinking Friends = Family = Romance. And as silly as the last couple situations have been they all served as Character Studies for Touta's little group of buddies so be interesting to see how this goes for Karin.

If Negima was Ken Akamatsu's publisher telling him he had to make a harem comedy and then him subtly changing it into a battle manga, I have to wonder what that makes UQ Holder. Because this series is basically turning into Love Hina :p I totally lost it at Mizore's plan backfiring.

Mizore is rapidly becoming my favorite character because she really only cares about having fun. Also Karin is proving to be actually the dumbest member of the crew.
