If you use a direct hook to the game on OBS or Xsplit, it shouldn't capture anything else on the monitor since its linking directly into the DX9/11 engine for footage. If you use Window/Monitor capture, then yeah you end up with WYSIWIG. As for setting up a good setup, I'd say stream at a resolution lower than what you'd usually want to, then drop your chat window underneath. With single-monitor setups, economy of space is important and you really don't need to be playing at barely-below fullscreen. This will also help offload stress on your computer.

So I'm thinking of making a proper banner for the Let's Stream thread, but I'm kinda having an inspirational dryspell. My general idea is a computer emitting wireless signals, but I'm not sure what color scheme to use or what size would be appropriate. So far I have two actual ideas, but I can attempt any other ones if they're better: -Computer shilouette with the retsuprae logo on the screen and the wifi signals. -Dude sitting at a computer, computer has the wifi waves

Someone might think it's a Retsupurae stream thread if that's there. As for colour scheme I say just about any will work since "stream" doesn't exactly shout a single colour. I think a good detail to ad would be the end of the banner breaking off into pixels considering streaming is sometimes just not reliable or not the best quality on a given day. haha, have it get more like pixel soup the further from the center you get. That'd be clever and feasible. I guess the computer doesn't need an icon either, though it would seem a bit bare.
