Hidden Potential sounds like a net negative then, with almost no chance for a 'higher' result over a lesser one.

give the +Aim to Ragnar to make up for his bad Aim. Tony 'Voodoo' White should instead be named Tony "Tony White" White.

I find the construction site map way harder then this one. The one where you start in a little square and there's a huge high rise area to the left and a bunch of poo poo on the right. I hope you play one of those so I can see what the hell you're supposed to do in those because I've never not lost a soldier in one of those.

the only way I've managed to do the overwatch trick is clicking back to the sniper. I don't get how you do it without switching back after activating Overwatch.

my problem with this idea of ITZ is the XP. I always seem to get my Snipers leveled up to max second (Weirdly, my first Rank 8 is always a Support. a Single support. I dunno why.) If you spend all your time getting your already max level Sniper even more kills seems like a waste, that XP could be better used by the people who aren't max leveled. I prefer Double Tap, because I usually can't kill something even when they aren't in cover every turn, but I can definitely use those two shots to set up someone else for kills to get XP.

I lost one dude as bait for this. It's been the only soldier I lost, but when you have nothing but two heavies, a support, and a sniper all using regular guns you have to do what you can, I blew all of my rockets and grenades on approach. And that was using the anchor chain to the top and never going into the bowels of the ship. Stallion Cabana fucked around with this message at 17:38 on Mar 9, 2014 |

That would be ungodly painful. You only get around 2k for a month from funding even if you have a Sat on every country, and you don't start with that much, you're basically resigned to the eternal -2 damage bonus until you've already beaten the game. It'd just be increased difficulty instead of requiring strategic thinking

Adnor posted:If you have a save just before a mission, the map would be the same every time you load, right? If so, you would do that and have Guava do the mission too, so we can see how differently you two play the mission. Saving before you launch a mission will end up changing it, so no, it doesn't work unfortunately.

the Double Steam Vent on Tier 3 is one of the common base maps, and is pretty much unarguably the best one. The Base isn't AS randomized as you would think, it's basically the same as a mission, so if you want the best one I'd always go for the one Jade ended up getting. The naturally adjacent Steam Generators opens up so much Power.

Are all of the skills random or not? Like what happens to the skills tied to specific weapons, ala Shredder Rocket, do they just disappear?

The description even says that they are the same as X-Com's ballistic weapons so are they just Grey Market fodder or somthing? you sometimes get requests to send them to countries too for more cash money. All the MEC troopers receive Mech names if they promote to the Nickname level while a Mec So Isobel's name is based on a robot from the Sci-fi novel The Future Eve You can also get ones named after stuff from Asimov.

I had to abandon this mission on this map once when an Exalt soldier critically wounded my Field Operative and I didn't have someone with Revive. I had already killed all of the Exalt by the time I realized this, so I spent a long time trying to figure out what to do. Eventually I reloaded.
