Going vertical is what makes a game like this. When someone goes vertical so should you. Trying to ADS them on the ground should get you killed or there isn't a point to jumping other than getting to ledges to shoot from. Halo has far more annoying specials than Destiny does and at least the particularly annoying ones (I have a gun that will now kill the next three people I meet.) don't come out that often. The gear issue isn't really a thing in beta all equipment in Crucible is flattened you will be missing the attachments from green weapons but they won't make or break most fights.
