9. Volume can go past 100% which all it does is distort the audio and dell has been instructed to void the warranty on your speakers if they see VLC installed.

10. their audio decoders dont honor metadata flags for decoding HD audio formats so everything is too quiet and you have to use this distorted audio thing as a loving bandaid instead of implementing some level of dynamic range normalization

i just found the cheat code to disable 'guest' mode on the TV in this hotel and I can now turn off all the dynamic-gamma fuckery settings too. it also lets you copy a JPEG off an SD card and set it to be the startup screen if you wanna goatman the next guest.

dynamic gamma is even worse than framerate interpolation. which i think i turned on by accident in VLC. either that or porns have started shooting in 60 fps
