if you're the kind of person who is satisfied with reading cliff notes instead of reading a book, you might be satisfied with watching a film in vlc instead of in a real media player

There's a way to enable this but i'm not sure where it is since i never go into options and never have to deal with GOP video

9. Volume can go past 100% which all it does is distort the audio and dell has been instructed to void the warranty on your speakers if they see VLC installed.
|
# ? Feb 17, 2014 02:33 |
|
10. their audio decoders dont honor metadata flags for decoding HD audio formats so everything is too quiet and you have to use this distorted audio thing as a loving bandaid instead of implementing some level of dynamic range normalization

i just found the cheat code to disable 'guest' mode on the TV in this hotel and I can now turn off all the dynamic-gamma fuckery settings too. it also lets you copy a JPEG off an SD card and set it to be the startup screen if you wanna goatman the next guest.

dynamic gamma is even worse than framerate interpolation. which i think i turned on by accident in VLC. either that or porns have started shooting in 60 fps
