We need a thread to just 'be musicians' in, so here we are.

Trimmed space on my HD today and had to choose between trimming my porn collection and trimming my audio library.

Which do you think I picked to purge? (hint: the first one and I didn't even have to think about it that hard)

Let's talk about being musicians and having a good time, man.

Ticket presales for this thread. Gotta sell 30 at $10 a pop, but anything you sell after that you get to keep. Should be an easy sell. There'll be lotsa other popular local posters ITT. You got 30 friends right? Easy.

THEN you get to post in this thread. What? You're good enough to post for money. You think you're so bad you'll post for free?

Yeah as a muso you generally have access to way better than street level drugs.

I was going to build up some array of smileys to indicate weed and music always being a great combination but there are very few smilies related to musicicians, so instead I will just fall back on :catdrugs:

Oh my yes, the past 10 years has been liberally peppered with unjustifiable purchases that benefited me minimally at the time, but then I reached a point where I started making music regularly and holy poo poo I have all this cool stuff that I can use now, thanks Past Self!

Think of these purchases as presents for the future you. Even go to the length of using them fruitlessly now, repackaging them up and hiding them somewhere in the house (get high as poo poo on the nugz from your industry-standard studio grow op to help forget that you've hidden them) and then years later find a drum machine propping up the wonky table and an E-Bow stuffed in the spare linen drawer.

Well no, but I have a lot of toys now. My live rigs have for the last few years mainly been gobbled together from stuff I've had lying around. I feel kinda bad for the 5 guitars and a half stack that I haven't touched since my previous band imploded three years ago.

I remember one time I took up a band wanted ad it was a guy who auditioned by singing this song, its a deceptively hard song to sing though because its all up in weird places in a singers range, especially when you get to the "run, run runnn, RUUUUUUUUUUN" bit which is loving appalling if you're a very bad singer and he was. Anyway thats my band wanted ad story.

The music industry is a Freemason conspiracy.

Right, so like, the Masons yeah? They put loads of money into bands like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd and Iron Maidens to be rockstars and millionaires right? So then we would all want to be like Jimmy Gilmour and Bruce Halford. So after they spent all that money into making people rich and famous to make us want to be rich and famous, they made musical equipment really expensive so that they could make all that money back from us buying their really expensive equipment because we wanted to be Rock Stars.
