West coast riders - Come one, come all, to the open trackday on June 2nd. It'll be the new, 5 mile course, open group format, so no sessions, just the track goes live and you ride. Wanna gently caress with your suspension? No big deal, just pull into the hot pits, adjust the clickers, and off you go. Wanna ride with your new buddy or get a tow from a faster guy? Just pull into the pits, snag them, and go out and ride! It will ruin you forever on trackdays that have sessions, though, so fair warning. I think last year I put in 250+ track miles across half a dozen different bikes. It was amazing. Last year we had 12 people there, roughly, including the visiting Australian, the guy that taught me to work on bikes, my wife, and a bunch of my friends. It was pretty much the most fun I've ever had on a trackday. This year confirmed are: Motomind FuzzyWuzzyBear My friend with the Brammo/gsx-r750 Spiffness Zool Gullous Bugdrvr ADINSX Plus another half dozen of my friends who don't post here. It's a great group of people, we'll be some of the first on the new 5 mile course, come out and ride. This is also where I shame my friends who haven't signed up yet into signing up. Post up here with contact info/PM me and I'll send you the sign up info. If you've never been to the track before, this is a great chance to get in on it - we can help you arrange transportation, set your bike up, safety check it, etc. Come out and have fun

Ok I'm down. All I've got is a ratty old sv650 and some street riding gear, I don't suppose anyone will be renting leathers? Or should I start looking for an affordable one piece?

Could I get an invite too (kyler.dotson(a)gmail)? I don't post much, but I ride with half the guys in this thread. We all did Thunderhill at the end of last year (my first time there) and a 5-mile track, open format, sounds like the closest thing to motorcycling heaven I'll ever be able to afford.

It really is. Not to oversell it, but me and Spiff were talking on the way back from the trackday last year and agreed it was pretty much one of the best days motorcycling we'd ever had. Good times.

Where should I be looking at getting a hotel for the Sunday before since I'll be riding to the track? Figure Sunday hotel up north, track Monday then Sf hotel Monday night, ride home or at least down to La Tuesday.

Also down for carpool opportunities. I'm in SF. Don't really care when I leave but if it's Sunday it has to be in the late afternoon at the earliest. Last year I just rode there morning of and rode back that evening. Pussies.

What time you guys all getting there? I'm probably going to be there around 5 or 6 I'd guess depending upon motivation level to start driving. Anyone want to meet up for dinner? A friend used to race up there all the time and said a place called Dos Coyotes is awesome so I'm going to check it out.
