Ricky Olczyk, now former assistant GM, was in that role for four and a half years. Replaced by Bill Scott, OKC's general manager for the last 4 years (whos done a real good job of it there). He's also only 33. GMing an AHL franchise at 29 :stare:

Don't forget about the Vanek offer sheet when Heatly thankfully didn't do that!

I like the idea of having a competent back up who can play 15-20 games a season to keep your #1 fresh. It adds a layer of intrigue/depth/meaning to roster decisions. Who knows, maybe someday we will be back to 1987 where #1s play 50 games a year.

One year, One Way. 600k (I guess the RFA auto-raise is only counted towards qualifying offers, Lander was at 900k last year)

Its the exact same deal they signed Arcobello. So at least if either of them gets stuck in the minors, they'll still get paid

At least the other guy they got for Smid is doing ok. Laurent Brossoit and the Bakersfield Condors just moved into Round 3 of the ECHL playoffs, and hes 10gp 8-2 1.75 0.934 with 2 shutouts so far. Playing against Olivier Roy and the Alaska Aces (Roy being the other guy traded with Smid to Calgary)

That's a weird rumor since Keenan has 1 more year left on his KHL deal. Technically they could try to work out some kind of deal with them to let him out of the deal but the odds of them letting the coach that just won their version of the Stanley Cup out of his contract seems unlikely.

Since when has that stopped Keenan before?
