You know what? They've put some interesting new monsters in Swamp, like that hilarious mangrove creature. There are actually interesting vaults in it now. And the Swamp:5 I just did had Lern the hydra as a boss guarding the rune, and he has a sweet new tile.

After years of development, they've finally done it. I don't hate Swamp.

Sorry team, Vault:5 was my undoing this tournament. My KoAk successfully stabbed, Rod of Ignitioned, and Disc of Stormed lots and lots of dudes, but did not come up with a viable answer to the pressing Bone Dragon Issue

Curious why "Ice Bridges" are on this list, that seems like a neat little bonus for IE and could lead to some interesting approaches to water-y zones.

There seems to be a concerted effort to avoid risk of insta-death over water or lava, making ice bridges the kind of thing to be discouraged. Would also be kind of a tedious exploration mechanism when no monsters are around.

Rename Hall of Blades to The Armory. Put in all of your vault-humans, like the guards and convokers or whatever, but give them a variety of branded weapons. Add a new monster called Vault Enchanter or Vault Animator with the spell Tukima's dance. Now you've got similarly guaranteed weapon loot, and the monsters are more interesting, and you can get owned by a distortion glaive popping off the floor, as god intended.

When this weapon is wielded it bursts into flame. Also, my character is too loving unobservant to notice flame-engulfed weapons that other people have, instead interpreting the tongues of flame, projected light, and intense heat merely as "glowing".

My favorite Tale of Versions Past was the guy who entered Zot, dropped his 3 runes to make inventory room, and then a little bit later went back up because he wanted something from a stash or something. Sure enough, the door to Zot locked behind him, and he had to grab another 3 runes to get back in.

Scrolls of fog are a really good thing to have if you want to waste a turn not breaking LOS with the thing killing you with ranged attacks.

The shadow shard seems to hurt undead and demons just fine, which is totally inconsistent with other uses of Shadow as an adjective in game. MY IMMERSION!

VsSk is not a game-recommended combo, but it works pretty well. Every spell in the book except Song of Slaying is worth learning for the sneaky stabber, and Regeneration and Spectral Weapon are useful all game long. I used Shadow Form zero times because I can't think of when it would actually be useful.
