Tailored Sauce posted:There is definitely more hype than I have seen before. In general walking around Manhattan you see a lot more people wearing Rangers clothing, and they have some big wooden pieces spelling out RANGERSTOWN at some park on 23rd St. I agree it is probably all hype and it will die down afterwards, but currently the hockey-related buzz in New York City is much larger. It helps that they've been getting the newspaper covers too.

Also Nash played really well away from the puck last round. I can't be mad at him. I just hope he scores a bit this round, the Rangers really need him.

Sounds about right. Honestly if the weather wasn't so nice here right now I'd say gently caress it and go out to LA for a game. We have an office in W Hollywood so I could probably get my boss to send me out there for the week. Plus I really like LA (as a city, gently caress the loving Kings).

Stickarts posted:The NHL is/was a sideshow compared to other sports. It has a history that is undeniably more violent. Bench clearing brawls were common place, so was hitting refs, so was confronting fans. I bet there was a player with a fractured skull from sticks pretty much every year from 1950-1975 because the NHL didn't give a gently caress. It was a serious, serious problem. Just because other sports can be lovely and bush doesn't make the NHL not the bush king. Sorry dude but you need to read a bit more about the NFL and concussions. Wayyyyyyyyy worse IMO.

I thought the Rangers won the 1st period handily, LA and NYR split the 2nd, and LA owned the third. I'm honestly not upset about last night. Girardi made a mistake on an unfortunate bounce and Poo took off. They played physical, forced a ton of turnovers, Quick was just very good after the first. McD and Hags were fantastic and Nash had a great game. The series is going to 7 and it's by no means tilted more than a 1 game lead towards LA.

Cause the Rangers looked terrible and it seemed like the ice and Lundqvist did all of the hard work? Hank is their highest paid player (starting next year) and the real superstar on the team. This is why. Refs are always bad. The luck talk is stupid as hell from both sides. Yes the Rangers did not play well. I thought it was entertaining but I also have a severely limping horse in this race.
