its white beans with ketchup basically

In Ireland and the United Kingdom, a tomato and sugar sauce is most commonly used, and they are commonly eaten on toast or as part of a full English breakfast.

American Boston baked beans use a sauce prepared with molasses and salt pork

huh. i guess i had just assumed that "baked beans" was the same thing in both places

grabbed a bacon sandwich from a cafe yesterday. one of the ones where they've got the sandwich all prepared - bacon cooked, bread buttered...etc - and all that's left to do is reheat it.

normally pre-made bacon sarnies are pretty bad. no matter how they start out, the bread ends up geting chewy and the bacon in stringy and insipid. places either doesn't heat it up, or heat it up in an oven, or :barf: the microwave :barf:

this place heated it up in a nice heavy-duty panini press, and left it in for a good long time. it came out gorgeous. piping hot, crispy bread, parts of the bacon poking out and getting crisped up. the gent added plenty of brown sauce, as requested. really really good.

oh yeah, and it got paid for on expenses. :smugmrgw:

i don't like panini press sandwiches if they smash the sandwich as flat as an envelope

bacon is so delicious; it's really a shame it became a "meme" thing

was it four bucks to get french toast instead of pancakes? is that because french toast is more expensive, or just because you wanted something different?
