As we're doing all the deals in this thread: Might & Magic X - Legacy is on sale on Mac Game Store.

The Steam key you buy will work for PC too. It's a really solid game in the series.

I read the RPS's Wot I Think review of it and it seems like it's a more interesting package of systems than a story rpg, which is cool, because XCOM was the same.

The thing holding me back is is it that good of a system? It's been years since I've played Wizardry 8, and if it's not got a better system than that I'm not sure it'd be worth it. Thoughts on the matter?

I put a decent chunk of hours in. I don't regret my time but by the end I was frustrated by more and more things--needing to chain-chug potions to keep a mage viable, every basic class feeling essentially the same in combat, having to hunt down trainers for skills--which eventually turned me off. It's also a piss ugly game presentation-wise, so you need to be able to cope with that.

It'll definitely scratch an itch if you've been longing for a new M&M6, just don't expect it to be the next great RPG. It's a game straight out of the early oughts and looks and feels it.

Thanks for the detail. It seems like it's not up to the quality of what I'd be looking for. While I'd love a fresh layer of paint on Wiz 8 I may just go back to it, instead of ultimately meh'd by yet another game of its type.

It's worth mentioning that the Might & Magic X comes with Heroes of Might & Magic 6 included.

It doesn't, I'm an idiot. It comes with Might & Magic 6 and DLCs for X.

You basically use a laser to cut almost anything in the level and use the pieces for platforming adventures. It's a bit of a wonky game and it's not very long, but it's well worth one measly dollar.

Thanks for this. Did you immediately get a Steam key? That's been my prior experience with Mac Game Store, but this time I don't immediately see the Steam key in my account listing for the game and I see the store page for the game says "Steam key optional." Not sure if something special has to be done to exercise that option.

3D action platformer where you have a laser gun for cutting poo poo in half and a grapple hook to move objects around. Works as an involved puzzle game and a bit of a wonky physics simulator, especially if you want to go for achievements. Also, the soundtrack is pretty great. The game is a steal for $1, even if you only play it for a few hours.

I'm up to 808 games and every sale there's still at least 2-3 things I buy. Mostly older AAA games like Dishonored, Skyrim, etc. that finally drop to $10 or less or the complete editions of games with all DLC included.

I have some friends that just buy anything it goes on sale and then never play it. They have Steam Accounts that are worth thousands of dollars. I really don't want to do that so I just end up buying poo poo that I want to play and know I will play a long time even if it is full price. Seems cheaper in the long run.

Then again, slashing prices and getting people to buy stuff even if they don't really want it is a legitimate strategy so I can see what Valve is trying to do.

The more you spend, the more you save!

I bought maaaaybe 1 or 2 small things during the winter sale because I hit the summer sale so hard and not that much had come out since that I really wanted for the prices they had. This time though i've had time to repopulate my wishlist and things have been out awhile I expect to buy a few things.

I'm sure a lot of people have accounts worth thousands of dollars. I've been buying steam games for a decade, so sure, those online calculators say I have a minimum of a few thousand bucks. The idea that you buy games full price though - the games don't get any less good just because they came out 6 months or even a year or two ago.

There are a ton of "AAA" titles for $10-15 around a year after they are released. Why WOULDN'T you wait? There are literally more games than you could ever play, why pay 4x the cost to ride the edge of release?

I'm about to buy this, but I noticed as I was registering that there's a space for a referral code. If someone has a referral code and wants to use it to make money off of me, hit me up on steam.

I don't have one, but as a head's up, when I made my order, I didn't get the Steam Key showing up immediately in the "My Games" portion of the website. Other Steam games I've ordered in the past have popped up immediately on the website with the key, but after ordering this it looked like my only option was to just install the game to my computer. I e-mailed their support and they said for this one I needed to use the App to get the key -- but they also e-mailed me the key in response to my support ticket. I've never used the app, so this wouldn't have been apparent to me. Support got back to me very quickly with the answer, though.

The key was listed right under the game after purchasing it, nothing additional had to be done. There was some minor delay for the key to work though - at first I pasted it immediatelly after purchase and I received "invalid product key" message but then when I tried again after a minute it worked fine.
