Are they those capsules that grow into dinosaur shaped sponges? Is the idea you eat one & the dinosaur swells up inside you so you feel full?

Why can't more people just eat smaller portions, exercise moderately & swallow several pill sized balloons that are inflated by a doctor to prevent you from gorging yourself to death?
