As with third movies in any given series, it comes with plenty of hype but will probably end in disappointment for most. As of this posting we have 7 of 12 of last year’s teams signed on to return. The 5 remaining teams are, of course, still welcome to join the league, so I’m comfortable giving them a week from this posting to do so before we start tacking on some newbies. If an old team needs a Join email sent to a different address than the one that Yahoo has, just let me know. I’m also open to the idea of just blowing the league up to 16 teams, which in my experience always makes for an entertaining season. If you want to join us on our cinematically-themed but mostly otherwise standard fantasy football journey, just post and we can figure it out before poo poo starts. It'd be nice if you posted in Cinema Discusso but it seems dumb to make that a restriction, and it feels equally as dumb to say only join if you're "into movies" because who the gently caress isn't into movies? What's most important is that you play through the whole season and give every week your best even if you're not doing well. That's the real requirement. Rules are mostly Yahoo standard except for .5 PPR and penalties for missing easy FGs/PATs. As with pretty much everything here, the rules are up for discussion. The draft is arbitrarily set for  Saturday, August 30 at 3pm. It can change according to people’s schedules and I think it’d be best to keep it at some point on that weekend.As for league theme this year, let’s talk about it. We’ve done two directors now (Coens/Carpenter), but it could really be anything. We just need a wide berth of titles/characters with which we can either make a dumb pun or try to sound cool to only ourselves. Tradition dictates. Back for another season. Wondering if I should try and get that Season 1 Magic back by napping through the draft again. A Robin Williams theme would be cool, but a little sad. I wouldn't hate a Michael Bay theme.

I think, in following the trend we've set the past couple years, our theme should be the movies of either James Cameron, Wes Craven, George Clooney, David Croenenberg, Frank Capra, Alfonso Cuaron, or, my top choice: Coppola Family Fantasy Football. edit: there are a shitload of great directors whose last names start with C edit 2: Frank Capra could give us some really good team names though. Also, can we swap the draft to a Sunday, if that is convienient for other people? I work 7AM until 10:30PM pretty much every Saturday (except the 23rd, but that's my birthday, so I'll be drinking), but I'm super off every Sunday.

I have a draft Monday at 7 or 8 as well. Sunday is no good for some people here (Vargo), so I'm fine with a draft tomorrow around 3, or moving it to later in the week like a Tuesday or Wednesday, although I can see how that might be cutting it to close to the season starting. Edit: Moral of the story, don't play in 4 leagues.

I get off work at 3:45, so I'll end up doing at least the first few rounds on my phone/iPad, but I'll be available.
