and "obama bought the election"-episode had mitt romney as a shitspewing duck.

anyway south park is funny when its not about issues or the issues are totally secondary to the jokes, if you are pissed off because you take south park too seriously then i dont know what to tell you.

Like if politics/an issue is represented by the numbers from 1 to 1000, everything from 2-999 is "somewhere in the middle". Chances of the truth being exactly 1 or exactly 1000 are much smaller than it being somewhere in the middle, it's just that usually it's pretty far towards one extreme or the other
1-dimension isn't even a good scale for accurately mapping out the different options for pooping, from "using a toilet", to "pooing your pants". where would we place pooing in the woods? where then pooing on a dog or a baby? where vomit? where????? SShow me your imaginary scale for descriptively mapping the ways a man can poo, fucker, and I will admit South Park is good or bad or whatever you're arguing

Trey and Matt's annoying preaching and Libertarianism aside, the show used to legitimately be funny. Then the last couple seasons decided to turn every episode into a mindless "Straight from the Headlines" parody where the kids are thrown into the National (or International) Spotlight, instead of just being a group of funny and naive little dweebs who are young and misunderstand something or other.

I don't mind the occasional episode where it's some Grand Thing, but loving christ, the last couple of seasons have hardly had an episode that wasn't an over-the-top, parody piece of poo poo.

If this is just how it's going to be, and this was the season's premier completely called in after they only did a half season (Edit: shortened season due to Book of Mormon) last season, I think I may be finished with South Park.

I don't care about their politics. I don't care who they voted for. Funny is funny and this poo poo and most of the episodes last season except maybe that Murder Porn episode and The Hobbit were just bullshit. The Game of Thrones parody was OK, but hardly stands up to previous seasons.

I think Trey Parker as a creative person is pretty talented overall, but he's running South Park into the ground. I've heard good things about The Book of Mormon (schedules kept loving with me watching the play and when they came back in town, I had moved out of Boston), maybe it's time to move on and do other poo poo. They've completely run out of ideas for South Park.

Next week's episode is called "Gluten Free Ebola"--what an original concept.

RIP South Park. A previous poster said it best: what you're doing right now? Simpsons did it.

Why was the episode good? Is it because you agree with the point they tried to make or was it actually funny?

I haven't seen it yet but I've watched South Park just because every episode is free (which I have a lot of respect for) and I get a laugh out of it sometimes. Last season I died laughing when this happened:

The season premiere wasn't very funny to me in the least but there's at least a 50/50 chance next week's episode will be so I'ma DVR it and not be a whiny bitch about it V:shobon:V

it's a comedy show. they very intentionally make stupid points for the sake of comedy. some of their episodes pretty clearly take aim at the show's preachiness and "middle-of-the-road" straddling. the "Butt Out" episode IMO pretty obviously was an attempt to make the most idiotic statement they could and boviously a bunch of you people took it 100% seriously

The "You're getting old" and "rear end-burgers" 2 parter was awesome. I really think that the episode was really about Matt and Trey feeling like they are just tired of doing the show. But it also had this great line in it:

"If there was a REAL social developmental disorder, you wouldn't call it rear end Burgers! That- that's just MEAN!"

The Margaritaville episode was also pretty funny.
