Considering nothing ever happens storyline wise for the belt, you can get to hold it for a long time. Lest we forget the reign of Ambrose.

If it is that nerve one they talked about on Total Divas, the doctor said the healing time is basically just for the sutures.

I though they elected to not renew his contract, not outright release him? His contract would have had to have been up last night in conjunction with an incident like that for it to have any weight unless I'm just interpreting the release statement incorrectly.

Medically, yea. But there are no guarantees as to when full feeling comes back. It could be as easy as waiting a few weeks for the suture to heal, then training to rebuild the lost strength or he could have to wait additional weeks to regain full feeling. One of my bosses recently had what I assume is the same surgery (he had a compressed nerve in his elbow) and he gained partial feeling back right away and the rest was slightly better but still needed substantial recovery. It was about six weeks before he could do the full rehab as intended. Granted, he's about 60, but still.

It's possible he just picked the worst time to do this. Or they could be softening it out of courtesy to Roberts.

At some point they're just going to accidentally break the record for longest US title reign, and it will take about a month before anyone acknowledges it.

That rumour is nonsense. This budget cut has been coming the last six months. Bix reported it awhile ago in F4Weekly. There was a week where everyone thought Chimel and Lillian were going to be laid off.

Apparently the plan (for now) is for Lesnar's next defense to be against Cena at the Rumble.

It sucks that Cena's basically going to to be the only guy challenging Brock before he drops it to Reigns/whoever at Mania.

It sucks as a viewer but they really dug their own grave here and have pretty much no other choice.

They need to make Brock look strong so that Reigns looks better when he wins the belt, but they've spent so long building up Cena at literally everyone else's expense that there's nobody other than him to put with Lesnar to convey that idea.

I had a thought earlier. Is Raven pretty much the new Randy Savage in that he's a guy WWE will rarely if ever even mention and never do business with, despite being a major figure at one point? I know he's not as big of a deal as Randy Savage was so that's not what I'm saying. Just when I see them do stuff like the ECW episode of that MNW series they don't bring him in for interviews they don't talk about his matches or his impact much at all.

If not him then who's the biggest name on WWE's "blacklist"

Gonzo McFee

To be fair half their main event is ether gone after getting sick of WWE bullshit and quit/got sacked (Punk, Alberto), got injured (Daniel Bryan, Reigns), retired (Shawn Michaels, Edge) or got sacrificed to the altar of John Cena, the guy who honestly doesn't politic, he's just handed the exact same run as Hogan would have gotten.

They've built up new stars, often against their will, but it is the WWE's fault for making it plain to see to those stars that if you're not John Cena you don't matter to Vince. Such a WCW thing to do. Vince is lucky TNA is so incompetent.

Actually, "McMahon: Luckily *Blank* was an incompetent dickbag" could be the title of his autobiography.

Raven got Shane drunk a lot when he worked in WWF production. Quit nice WWF production staff job at a time when Vince felt most vulnerable to go off and rassle for ECW when Vince said he would never be over as a wrestler. Proved Vince wrong in that regard and the coin flipped to "Hates it when you prove him wrong" on that day. Was hired back by WWE by JR in 2000, which got the response "Who the gently caress hired Raven?!" from Vince and a massive pop from the crowd when he debuted by giving Jerry Lawler a DDT. Had a gimmick Vince didn't understand (Maybe if he was a 1950's beatnik Vince would have got it) and most recently tried to have a lawsuit against the WWE for their bullshit contracts that was thrown out despite Raven probably being right.

There's also Konan who keeps bringing up WWE's racism and joined Raven in the lawsuit.

Chyna's done the porn but if she went through a DDP yoga program then they'd probably sweep it under the rug. Porn's not that big a deal anymore.

Raven himself wasn't a big WWE guy. He didn't really do anything of note in his runs with the company, and they don't go out of their way to show how big people were in WCW/ECW unless they can make money from them like Sting.

Write up from another forum on the second shoot interview Raven did for Highspots.com

quote:

Final days in WCW- "This will teach you never to do business after taking drugs and drinking all night." He flew to Las Vegas the night before and was reading an Entertainment Weekly while he was reading. He then went out with Disco, did a bunch of Ecstacy, went clubbing, and hooked up with a pretty yet muscular girl. Screwed her, got no sleep, then went to the meeting at the building. "My hair was sticking up like Sideshow Bob." He ended up taking the wrong exit from the hotel and, since they were in Vegas and the door shut behind him, it meant a long-rear end walk to get back to where he needed to go in the hot sun when he already felt like crap. He finally made it to the MGM for the meeting. He and Konnan laid down in front because they knew they were going to get yelled at over their comments to the media. He started thinking that Bischoff was going to bitch at him first when he heard the word "Scott come out" but then Bischoff finished the sentence by saying "Cunningham, our attorney, is here" and he thought he might actually be left alone. When Bischoff then said "If anyone's unhappy, there's the door", he figured he was being singled out and said "Okay, see ya" and walked out. Bischoff then started picking on Konnan, Buff Bagwell, and others so he turned around to say "How about that, Konnan?" before realizing he was the only person to walk out. Raven says he was pissed about his situation, creatively, and that money was secondary. He felt his happiness was worth more than money to him at the time. He, along with others like Kidman and Konnan who were debating a release, called the WWF but never got called back, which he found out later was because the WWF thought they never really WOULD get released from WCW. He thought he didn't have heat with Vince but was obviously wrong because, soon after he got back, a road agent told him that the first words out of Vince's mouth at a meeting were "Who the gently caress hired Raven?!?" If had known that would have happened, he wouldn't have gone there.

So yeah, Vince's reaction to hiring Raven was bewilderment and rage. Probably the same way he reacts to taking a poo poo.

I think the story is Vince was one of the first people to call Jarrett after his wife died and they cleared the air in that phone call.

Savage was doing adverts for the WWE game right before he died, so I feel like they probably would've brought him back for a HoF entry. His deal was with THQ/2k, whoever was making the game at the time, but so was Warriors.

Yes hello it is I Kurt's Secret Son

Well I must admit, I read the discussion thread this morning to see what had happened on Raw and was very pleasantly surprised that Ambrose/Rollins in the Cell is now definitively happening. That's great! Ambrose beat Cena in a match, admittedly in the least damaging way possible, but still! That's great! Mark Henry and Big Show cheated and double-team attacked Rusev outside of a match. That's really weird!

If the card does not get changed (there are still many days left for Jhon Cena to occur) then I am excited for HIAC. Maybe Luke Harper will start his big credible solo run there and eventually get over and beat Sheamus! Shame about Justin Roberts though.
