Except I learned I can kill 'criminals' forever in an attack helicopter which has unlimited fuel and weapons.* *This is also how I found out in a few hours that the money cap is 999,999,999 or something. poo poo. Maybe I should be a drone pilot? Civ used to make me so mad as a kid, stupid uppity governments.

Wiping out groups of fellow humans is one thing. To learn true genocide, you need a game like Master of Orion 2.

You can roll up anything, even the whole galaxy. But you have to start off small and watch out for cats or startled Asians. Important: The entire process works much better if you are very high.

peace is a temporary stasis of unequal power relations, authority is legitimated only by its capacity for violence, our understanding of the world outside our immediate surroundings is based on absurd simulacra manufactured and experienced completely within the bubble of the hegemonic culture industry, japanese people think bread is weird

If you stand far enough away from someone, even if you're right in front of them, you turn invisible. This distance is usually about 30 feet for them, and much further for you.

I learned a lot from playing runescape when I was 8. Like how to type quickly and properly. My vocabulary probably tripled and my writing actually extremely good for an 8 year old, I could have at least passed as your average 20 year old art student. Practical uses of math. Steel is iron with added carbon. Basic economics. Risk assessment (not loving walking into the wild wearing your mith scim). Strangers are all out to get you. I still have a friend from 10 years ago from that game.

the videogame industry is still in that part of its childhood where it cant think of any other way to interact with things than to push or punch them, which is why it finds the concept of building sandcastles so novel and exciting

A lot of random geology and metallurgy stuff from dwarf fortress. I won a game of trivial pursuit by knowing what lignite was. The manual for my copy of sim-ant had this whole book of ant facts in it. I'd read it when is was waiting for games to load, and ended up being very knowledgable about ants. I guess you can throw in the basics of evolution and random mutations thanks to sim-life as well.

I learned that I am a special, unique snowflake with a destiny which will affect a large geographical region's populace. I also learned only a handful of people care about that, and of these people almost all of them want me to run little errands they're too lazy to do themselves. The world is populated primarily by bandits and civilization will slowly erode as good people die. Finally, I found out that I can prolong fulfilling my destiny almost indefinitely while I brew stuff, pick flowers, make a house and collect a large number of skulls & burned books. Screw you, destiny. I have my own goals.

Water is strong against fire Fire is strong against grass Grass is strong against water Rock is strong against flying Flying is strong against fighting Fighting is strong against rock Normal is weak against fighting but immune to ghost. Electricity is strong against water and flying but weak against ground. More often than not, using the same element against itself will not be effective.
