nah, my cables just fray right at the corner of the plug before it goes in, all of them do that, including the ones plugged into the back of my work laptop that gets used maybe once a month. i mean, gee, apple makes you pay $59 for a 3ft lightning cable, i'm sure they don't intentionally engineer them to break super quickly, while the $15 3rd party ones never fray/wear in the same spot.

pro tip: take a close look at your [any apple cable]. see the attractive, sleek rubber sleeve instead of an actual strain relief? that's how an idiot moron designs cables that break. then they charge u $80 for it
